This is a beast, do I need one?

    • Part of me would love to get it, as I love Porsche and I love Lego.

But part of me isn’t a fan of all the gaps, the gears you spend forever building that end up being hidden and not to mention it’s over $350.

Then again, it is a Porsche. Made out of Lego…

So. Many. Connectors. But a great model nonetheless. Cheaper (an IMHO better looking) than the Chiron.

I only found out about lepin yesterday from someone at work. I was told they do direct copies of alot of the big lego model kits.

Here's the lepin version of the same kit on aliexpress
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/LEPIN-20001-technic-series-9…

If mods think this isn't ok, please remove it.

    • You really want to support a business that rips off the IP of another one? They are literally stealing the success of a legitimite company and you shouldn't support that practice. (profanity) Lepin.

It's not the same kit though. It's a good facsimile. Pieces don't really click together as well. No resale value at all.
Fwiw Lego just won an historic lawsuit against lepin in China courts. Might be Leinster days are numbered.

  • I’ve got four of these unopened.
They were released when I was watching people make money in unopened boxes of Star Wars sets.
I was heavily in the car scene at the time, and Porsches were becoming really popular and rising in value. I bought four LEGO sets and put in storage, thinking that this is how I will make my fortune.

LEGO just keep pumping this set out (or they made way more than what is typical).
They are also cheaper on sale than what I paid.

Maybe I should build one, to get some resemblance of joy out of it.

Forget making money off the big collectors sets, they are too heavily printed. Same goes for video games. The days of rare stuff are over. In some ways it's good, we spend less.

You can still make money if you're careful or buy on a 40% off sale, but it's all too much effort

  • I just grabbed one. The dollar must have fluctuated because it cost me $348 including free delivery. Says 6 to 9 days. I'll let you know how it goes.

  • I can't create new deal because I'm overseas, but please see target.com.au
