Just came across in Amazon. When combined with 12.5% 8% cashback from Cashrewards, it gets to a total of $329.29. This would be the lowest I have ever seen since the TGG Commercial deal. Only silver version available. Enjoy :)

EDIT: If you happen to be travelling within the next 60 days, you can utilise TRS, which drops it even lower to $296.36. Gets you slightly below the $300 benchmark that many have chosen to pull the trigger. Thanks @tedzozb for that reminder!

Damn but I want them in black and under $300 😉

jk hopefully this is a longer term price drop from Amazon - putting some more pressure on other retailers.

    • Bit hard to drop under $300 in a short period I guess

      • Hold my beer - TGGC

  • +2

I reset my trigger to 300. Plus cash back and TRS :)

  • i reckon wait till 11.11

    • +6

Then Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Boxing Day, Christmas, New Year, etc.

      • If whirlpool is serious in that Officeworks is about to stock them, it really opens up the competition as there's a definite price beat policy in play.

      • I definitely think there is room for below $300 (outside of TGGC) by the end of the year or early next year based on price trends of XM2 this time last year. If you can wait that long that is.

    • or wait til it goes on clearance?

      • or wait til XM4

    • what's remembrance day got to do with Sony and noise cancelling?

      • +2

I think 11.11 is singles day, a big shopping sale day for China.

        • thanks, marked my calendar now :)

        • I'd rather local stock.

  • +7

    Waiting for $300.

  • Still have $20 off $75 spent from maccas monopoly. So tempting…

    • The voucher code may void cashback claims though

      • +1

I used it recently. You'll get the cashback from order minus $20

    How does TRS work?

    • +3

It is just so hard to google, right.

    • +2

Basically GST tax refund. Take your goods together with tax invoice to the TRS counters after immigration, and they will credit the tax charged into your account.

Any way or hack to do it flying domestically or having no ticket at all?

        • Nope, have to do it before flying internationally, no other way around. Unless you get someone you know who's flying overseas within the 60 days to do it for you, but then you won't be able to get your goods until they return.

Do you know how to use Google Search ?

I am travelling within the next 60 days… must resist and wait for a better deal… must resist and wait for a better deal… must resist and wait for a better deal….

    • +2

      Resistance is futile
live the OzBargain way: Buy first Think later ^_^

      • LOL… I took your advise and just as I was about to pull the trigger, Cashrewards pulled the plug on the 12.5% offer (it's now 8%)… guess that made my decision to wait for a better deal :)

    • +1

Buy it now so that a cheaper deal can appear the next day for the rest of us.

What is it with these random cashback increases and decreases? Anyone got the info on this?

  • Anyone know why JB’s website doesn’t show them at all? Black or Silver?

    • +1

No stock. Most stores have 20+ on backorder and they've been given no ETA on new stock (from Sony). (Will update this post when I hear more)

      • +1

Qantas store still in stock for 339 + 2000pts

  • Damn. Flying international at the end of Feb. With any luck there's a decent deal like this within 60 days of then.

  • So what colour are these. Silver or gold or grey or something else?

    • It is literally in the title and description….

      • I mean in real life cos I've only seen the black ones. Bit confused on some pics they look silver, on others grey and some a completely different light goldish colour (Amazon has listed it as gold).

        • +1

It’s like a champagne colour. Not really silver.

          • @cnut: Cheers bud I'll pass then. Bit weird how the colours look different in different pics :/

          • @cnut: It's nothing like a champagne colour - I have no idea where people keep getting this from!

I agree it's not quite "pure" silver (I'd say silver mixed with a bit of white) but it's certainly not gold.

            • @callum9999: It’s not really silver white either. There’s definitely a tinge of browny gold thing that’s hard to describe.

  • I'm definitely willing to pull the trigger at this price. I just don't trust my luck with cashbacks. I haven't had a good record with bigger transactions through them. Some of you will say it's my fault. Whatever, think what you like. And no, I'm not dumb enough to leave ad blockers on while using cashrewards, not when it's been so long publicized as something that conflicts with tracking. Something else is going on but I can't figure out what. Yes I know it works fine for you.

Will probably wait and see if it appears on an ebay 20% off deal.

    • +1

If the item is already in the cart before you go to cash rewards you won't get cashback.

Can't use mobile browser either for Amazon

      • I didn't find out about that one until after I ordered it. I don't think either cashback site informs you about that. Maybe they do, but they don't highlight it in a way that would get your attention. You'd assume what's written is the same as any other retailer.

For those getting this Sony for the superior ANC but prefers Bose QC35ii sound signature, you can custom EQ on the XM3's as follow:

    Clear Base -3
    1k +1
    6.3k +3
    16k +3

    • Sweet! Just received mine today, will definitely give those settings a shot! Cheers
