I haven't had this cc on any other paypal acc before.
Even transferred paypal balance to the Ph Paypal with no help,
DiviPay no longer works

    • Yea I made sure all security options are allowed with no help

    • ps.
After the initial attempt to add the cc in paypal where it says "this card has been added but cannot be used for this transaction"
after i try and go through payment again
i get an error "we cannot setup pre-approved payments please try again later"

  • Is Spotify identifying the CC as Australian and therefore not allowing it on a PH site? I've had this issue on other sites previously.

    • Thats probably the only explanation i can think of, however others were vouching for Commbank cc's… Any virtual online cc's i can use?

    • I highly doubt Spotify is aware of the credit card you are trying to use. Your credit card info stays with PayPal.

One thing I can think of is that PayPal is doing card verification - billing address versus what address on the PayPal PH account you created.

I’ve had my Qantas cash card linked to my PH account for a few years now with Spotify Family PH automatic debit each month.

      • Maybe they have recently blocked it, i have attempted it with a new Paypal and spotify account using load and go with the same error occurring

Create a new Philippine PayPal account with a VPN and a different email address and transfer Philippine funds from your Australian PayPal.

    • correct me if im wrong but from what ive read, Paypal still requires a CC on the account even if theres balance? since its a reoccurring payment?

You don’t need a credit card to be attached for reoccurring payments.

I had auto transfers from my bank accounts before I had a debit card.

        • Oh, Very Strange, i tried to do it yesterday after removing the card and it didnt let. I will try with a new paypal account and post the outcome

        • Gave it a shot, Paypal forces you to add a cc, added brand new Load and go on a new paypal acc and spotify with no help. Seems like theyve found a fix/patch

      • Correct. But even with a credit card attached to the account your subscription charge will always go to the prepaid balance first. By keeping the account in credit you avoid credit card and international transaction charges.

Got it activated last night. Used Brave browser with block ads, block third party cookies, block all fingerprinting. I had set up my Philippines Spotify and Paypal about 3 weeks ago and tried then but kept failing. I added my ANZ travel card to Paypal and verified it then also. Then I tried it tonight and it worked with Brave Browser, dont think I tried it then.

  • Hi All,

Does anyone know what happens if you try using an AU PayPal account with a PH Spotify account?

    Cheers,

  • Merged from Issue with paying for Spotify premium Philippines

I created a new Spotify and PayPal account in the Philippines, but when I try to pay using PayPal, I get the error message "We’re sorry. We weren’t able to complete your payment or set up pre-approved payments. Please try again later." I've linked an aussie card and have balance in the PayPal account. I see that others has had this issue before but there didn't seem to be any solution yet. Has anyone had any luck with this?

    • Connect your Aussie card to your Australian PayPal and transfer money from your Australian PayPal account to you Philippines PayPal account. Spotify will always go for the account credit before charging the card on file.

      • @braskic I tried this and it didn't work.

  • In the thread linked someone said they’re account got cancelled due to some 14 day rule. Is that still the case ?

Also does your playlists and recommendations change when moving from AU to Philipeans ?

  • No matter what I do, I can’t seem to get this to work.

Has anyone successfully had it working recently?

    • just tried this morning and got through, i just cleared all cached and history in chrome, run vpn and login in spotify and went from there with no hiccup, pretty much the same way previously. Seemed spotify has some easy day.
