Best Automatic Coffee Machine for The Office

Our new office is getting fitted out and my boss told me I can choose the new coffee machine for the kitchen <3

Can you guys recommend anything? Price is no object. It should be automatic, as in pouring in the beans and the water and having it do everything for you, with a milk frother preferably but not vital (can just get a separate milk frother). It also needs to look pretty.

For example this one https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/delonghi-primadonna-elite-ful… but its looks aren't super inspiring.

If price is no object, get yourself one of these. You can find excess stock around universities, and some even come with additional features.

    • That does look pretty! But seems to be manual

No, the whole thing is a package. It even has voice commands.

        • Oh. Haha. Very funny :)

  • I think I'll go this one unless anyone knows of something better? https://www.domayne.com.au/breville-the-oracle-espresso-coff…

    • This is semi-auto, and if you are going to go for a semi-auto I would go for something other than Breville.

Price is no object? Get a Jura.

^this, we got a Jura at my work and its great. So much better than the DeLonghi machine we have.

    • The thing that strikes me with these machines is the milk just hanging out there on its on.
Wonder why they couldn't fit another tank for the milk.

    • Thanks for the only serious suggestion so far :)

      • My sister-in-law has one at home which IMO is a bit over the top, but since it's for the office no one is going to think that way. They'll be thanking you for years to come.

Something like the egro zero if money isn’t an object.

  • this one https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/delonghi-primadonna-elite-ful… but its looks aren't super inspiring.

Since "price is no object" , just get the good guys machine, then have a jeweler work 24 carrot gold, diamonds, rare gemstones and a few black pearls into it :)
Than get the most expensive coffee in the world

Had one of these where I used to work, perfect for a larger office, overkill if not many will use it.

    • Wow looks amazing!! But there's only about 10 of us lol

  • An office Nespresso machine. Or even a higher end home Nespresso machine could do too, depending on number of staff.

My suggestion is predicated on running cost also not much of an object, since the pods could be more expensive than beans (or could be less, depending on the beans obviously). The pods are good because:

    • different staff can have different pods - for caffeinated/decaf, different strengths, style etc.
    • Nespresso is probably one of the better pod coffees around.
    • very little cleaning upkeep.

Also depends if people will clean it. Worked in an office that had to one of the larger Jura's installed per floor, and it went disgusting quickly. Most people ignored all the prompts and wouldn't wipe up messes, and being on floors with over 100 people per floor, the build up got so bad so quick, it would take me at least 30 minutes to clean before I could even make a coffee - it was faster for me to leave the office and buy a coffee. The business had to employ a dedicated coffee machine cleaner who alternated between each floor cleaning the parts and looking after the machines.

The Nespresso corporate ones are in my current office, and still need cleaning/descaling but it's not as bad as grinds are contained, milk is in a thermos, and the steam nozzle is a disposable straw and nozzle that the machine automatically tells people when to replace the disposal straws/nozzle.

The Jura coffee tasted way better, but the Nespresso machine is made for lazy office workers, so at least there wasn't layers of coffee grounds stuck around the machine, weird discolouring milk residues all over the place, the nozzle didn't clog up with dried milk, etc.

Agree, with apathy from people, it is going to be hard to keep clean. At last workplace, I decided it was more practical to set aside a budget for free coffee/snacks for all IT staff at nearby cafe. Our routine was coffee breaks together morning and afternoon there - in the scheme of things, it was cheap, good for morale, allowed catch-up on work issues, and replaced some pesky official meetings. There was still instant coffee for other times, but it was not used that much, so it was relatively clean.

That's an awesome idea! It would've been great for the team and boosting moral like that also boosts productivity as people work better when they feel part of a team.

@savage bargain: Yeah, it was an incredible and cohesive team of guys and gals :-)

  • I've had coffee from MANY automatic machines.. yet to find ONE that comes close to a decent barrista.

Would like to be shown otherwise happy to come to your office in Brisbane and try if you think you have found a decent one.

  • Eversys in my opinion make the best Super automatic commercial coffee machines available. But you pay dearly for them. If price really is no object then have a look at their lineup. Especially the new model Cameo c'2 ctms. What is can do is pretty amazing.
