OnePlus 6 8GB RAM 128GB Storage - Gray, Black, Red, White - US $455.40 (~AU $630) Delivered @ Joybuy

1390
ONEPLUS02

Got this in a promotional email just now, seems like a good deal. Appears to include all colours, which is a bonus.

There's a link to a $5US coupon on the item page, just click to redeem it, then select it during checkout.
After adding GST it comes to $455.40USD. (sorry, I had the wrong conversion originally in the title)

Of course the OnePlus 6T has just come out, but I think this is still a great price for a great phone.

As a note, the site considers the order "done" as soon as you get to the payment stage… which is I think the first time you see the GST added. Thankfully you can just cancel the orders with one click on your orders page.

EDIT: a $20 discount may be possible with code ONEPLUS02, see here

This is part of Singles' Day Sales for 2018.

anyone's new shipping number showing any information yet?

mine's still showing "This number can't be found at this moment. It's not available in the carrier's system yet. Please check back later." and has been since the 28th.

    • +2

I was given my new tracking number after I put in a paypal dispute. It's been showing "Departed Facility in China" since 30/11

      • I escalated my dispute through paypal yesterday (no response from Joybuy as yet). This morning the tracking was still last showing from 30/11 but I've just refreshed again and now I have updated tracking from yesterday and today showing that it's been flown out from Hong Kong! Am I being cynical or are all these conveniently timed shipping updates a sign that they're faked?

The useless morons at Joybuy have now shipped out a phone to me . Even after all those chats ,emails about intercept and cancellation and all this 9 days After I opened my PayPal dispute.
They sent a tracking number to PayPal
and the tracking no. verifies that the item was only just picked up on Friday and it is still in China.
Spoke to PayPal and they want JD to explain why the item did not arrive by the quoted 8-12 days and why the item was sent out even though I requested a cancellation 9 days earlier. They also agreed that a shipping time of 30 to 40 days is not acceptable. I urge anyone who paid by PayPal to open and file a dispute. Forget waiting 30 to 40 days. Them sending the phone out to me makes no difference to me as I already bought a oneplus 6T last week and already received it within 4 business day from Perfect Mission on eBay.. Very highly recommended..
After my dealing with joybuy.(JD) This JD mob would have to be the most useless and irrelevant excuse for a business in china. A street vendor would have to be more professional than these brainless air heads .
      Rant over .

I've raised a dispute this morning, hoping like hell my package hasn't gone anywhere yet. In the mean time thinking about buying off Ebay with the new 10% discount code.

        • +1

I've also escalated my dispute to PayPal. My tracking number still isn't working. Complete incompetence from Joybuy.

  • +2

Quite possibly the worst shopping experience I have ever had. I still haven't had an update since the 16th. Tried to cancel twice but they keep telling me to be patient blah blah. I wouldn't be surprised if they never had the stock in the first place.

  • +2

In the same boat. lack of communication. Had mine ordered 7th nov. Still no phone or working tracking.

Talking to bozos on chat is a total waste of time. Sending me in circles waiting for some shred of proof its been sent out

    • +6

This has now become personal for me.. Don't waste any more time guys . Open a PayPal dispute and escalate to a claim. These idiots at Joybuy are doing nothing but buying time using your money. As I mentioned earlier .. The promised time was 8-12 days. Not 30 to 40 days. They had an obligation / choice to correct the mistake they made initially but chose to ship our purchases via snail mail and screw us all.
      Not acceptable..
The more open PayPal cases the more they will get crunched by PayPal.. Even the PayPal consultant mentioned this.
Get on it and teach these morons a lesson.

      • +4

Agree with you whole hearteningly but TBH I doubt that they have even sent the packages out yet. Those who choose to wait for their phones to arrive could be waiting for a really long time.

      • +3

Totally agree, couldn’t waste any more time with this idiot. I opened a PayPal dispute on 27th Nov as there customer service was so useless. They then dispatched and send me a new tracking number 2 days later and give me $10 coupon if I’m willing to accept the delivery or send the phone back for refund which will take 30-40 days to arrive and another 30-40 days to return. No way mate, I need my money back now.

  • +3

    Hallelujah!

JoyBuy has cancelled my order! Talked to customer service and they said 7-15 days for the refund to be processed so probably next year..

Was such a struggle to get this outcome, it's been over 3 weeks - just glad it's been resolved.

Hope you guys will get the same result.

A heads up, I raised a dispute with PayPal 3 days ago after asking them to cancel my order on three separate occasions.

Now just waiting for my refund to be processed along with my OnePlus 6 from 7272wil on eBay to arrive!

    Good luck everyone!

    • +1

Update: Refund has appeared in my PayPal!

All the best guys, hope everyone gets this resolved ASAP!

  • +3

Lodged my PayPal claim on the 23rd, and have had no response from JoyBuy so PayPal have just refunded me the full amount in USD. Unfortunately looks like due to the exchange rate change since 11.11 i'll lose $12-$15 as the purchase and refund are in USD, but i'll take that as a win compared to dealing further with the slimy scammy joybuy.

    • +1

Interestingly enough, after paypal refunded me, my order status now shows cancelled. A week ago they told me they've already dispatched the phone. Now i'm starting to think they hadn't actually shipped the phone back then..

  • +1

I have now received a 3rd tracking number through the PayPal dispute which i doubt I would have received if i didn't raise it. Kinda useless to me as i have already ordered a device with another seller.

    • I was issued a third tracking number after raising a dispute on PayPal too. And apparently this item was sent on 29/11, when the last tracking number they gave me was issued on 27/11. Sounds like they're trying to pull one over us.

      • I suspect so as well, as they have said they can still intercept and cancel the order if requested, which I have already done.

  • +1

I've given up on ever receiving this phone from Joybuy. I purchased an 8GB/128GB OnePlus 6 on ebay tonight using the 10% off code and five of the 5% off gift cards. Total cost was $586.10. Estimated delivery time 10/12-14/12.

It could go as low as ~$569 if you buy Mirror Black (I bought Midnight Black), used the coupon PYRO10, 6 gift cards, and cashrewards.

  • Good move. I did the same but without gift cards unfortunately. I'm hoping to have a much better experience with Perfect Mission ebay although they have given me some lame excuse about the local stock taking longer to be delivered than overseas stock. It looks like its quicker to have them send stock direct from overseas rather than have them repackage it as local stock and have them send it from here.

  • Hey, I made payment through my credit card and thinking to dispute it through Visa. Visa is asking the expected date of delivery. Considering I ordered on 11/11, does someone know what was the expected date it should have been delivered?

    • Mine was 7 days processing then 8-12 days delivery. In reality it was shipped out the next day but has been 23 days.
My phone case arrived yesterday from the same order… it's like they're intentionally being cruel

    • 8-12 days from the original tracking that showed 11.11 as the dispatch date. Should have arrived on the 23rd

  • +1

For anyone who has cancelled their order and already received a refund I really hope your phones get delivered so you can hold onto them for as long as possible before you decide to send them back or not.

    • +3

Just let them know that Shipping could take 30-40 days, and as this is peak delivery period expect delays.Let them know that administrative processing and handling could take up to 10 days.

Then link them a tracking number that doesn't work. When they point this out apologize, ask them to be patient and then issue a second tracking number that doesn't work, before finally providing them a functioning tracking number.

  • I was checking my joybuy account to see if my order had been cancelled and… I have been issued a fourth tracking number.

    • How the hell did they make a mistake that bad.

    • Same thing here .. Another tracking number that doesn't work. Will give PayPal another call tonight I think. This is now beyond a joke.. I find this beyond belief. I don't think there are any humans @ Joybuy. Its run by chooks. They seriously can not be this stupid !!

  • I'm still on my first! But they can't tell me where it is. Problem is that they have to intercept it before they can issue a refund. What the!!! Paypal to the rescue thank goodness.
Just noticed they have increased the price to USD $619.

  • I have now received a new tracking number. Seems to be orginated in Australia.

I dont really know what these guys are upto seriously

    • Hmm. Exact same time stamp/event for me. It's reasonable to think that they were all sent out in a batch, but I'm a little suspicious. Can I PM you my tracking code to see if we were given the exact same number?

  • Alright, seeing as a lot of us have identical time stamps and events, here's my tracking number, partially censored for my privacy just in case it's an actual unique tracking number.

The one I received through PayPal dispute:

        Sydney, Australia, Flight arrived

Looks like it's arrived in Sydney.

  • Relieved. Refund at last.

  • So i assume if we don't accept the package it's returned to sender and we can request a refund?

    • You can request a refund now. Either through the morons at Joybuy, with Paypal or with both. Paypal will assess your claim and more than likely award the claim in your favour. The process may take around 10 days or so but you don't have to wait for the order to arrive.

  • Refund received 5 days ago. Good luck everyone!

  • I've got some backdated shipping info overnight that it was processed at Chullora yesterday arvo. Maybe some Sydney members will receive something this week?

    • I received mine today. Didn't realise the phone was HydrogenOS, doesn't even have the Google Play Store, what's the point? …

      • edit: nevermind, you can easily flash OxygenOS (and probably others) onto the phone.

        • did you do it through the download on the oneplus.com.au upgrade section?

          • +1

@phor8: yes. Download the zip file, move it to the phone's root directory, then under Settings > System Updates > (top right) Settings > Local Update > the zip file. Or something similar.

Ordered 7th Nov. Received 12th Dec.

ETA was 8-12 days so 35 days is poor to say the least.

Customer service was totally useless. I got all my info from here. 3 tracking numbers. 2 attempts to cancel order. Broken website. Needless to say I wont be shopping at joybuy ever again!!!

It's an amazing phone no doubt, I really love it and the price but can't let joybuy off the hook that easy. They need to improve big time….

I'm in Melbourne and received my phone today. A lot of headaches along the way, but I'll be keeping it. I've asked PayPal to close my item not received dispute. I mentioned a few posts ago that I bought a second one on ebay, but some miscommunication caused the seller to cancel my order. So I'm just happy to have a phone in my hands.

I would definitely not recommend joybuy for big purchases. Too much stress and anxiety about whether you'll receive your item or if you'll ever get your money back.

  • +1

The phone was delivered to me today after all the mucking around. I rejected the delivery .. It is now being returned back to the sender. They could have avoided all this. Now it has cost them the delivery fees and a dispute with PayPal. It could have been avoided so easily but decided to test me hoping that I would just accept it and forget.

    • Received my refund through the PayPal dispute yesterday and I am guessing Paypal were just waiting for me to refuse the package before they issued the refund. So all in all.. Joybuy still has the package listed as "delivering" a big lesson learnt here.. Avoid Joybuy at all cost. I am. Sure I will lose some dough due to Conversion fees etc etc. But still happy to not have to deal with the clowns at Joybuy ever again.
