I always get a message with shaver shop saying the connection is not private so I don't go through to the website.

    What is the product?

    • Try clearing your browser cache and make sure address is https://

  • +1

Will this work on my balls?

    • +3

If by work, you mean obliterate your "count", then yes..

      • I am pretty sure there was a study that showed a slight decline in sperm count for a short duration after IPL

      • +2

So we can use this instead of getting tubes cut?

        • Just get a Call of Duty Shirt from EB Games Loot Sale.

    • Yes, it is a lot easier than shaving too. More effective on the balls that other parts around there.

    • Yes, they will be burnt and removed. If not, try the laser instead.

    • +3

      Yes, and here’s the result

      • One of those is still plenty hairy though

  • Does anyone actually have any real experience with home IPL?
All laser related people say it’s not worthwhile.

    • +2

I have used the Silk’n IPL and it works.

    • +2

My partner uses the Lumea Prestige which works really well. She has to shave her legs every few days and now it's gotten to about once a fortnight after a year of casual use. It's safe and hasn't burned her once even though her skin is a bit darker.

It's more expensive though, but I think we saved about $200 or so through an Amex offer and a Philips cashback.

  • +1

Shave10 code works for $10 off, but may impact the Cashrewards cashback.

    • How does it impact the cashrewards?

      • Cashback won't be honoured if the code is not listed on their website.

        • +2

Can confirm no cashback if you use this code, I got caught on a previous deal.

  • Let's give it a go!

Product has poor reviews, battery issues. Do your research before making a silly decision.

    • +5

I'm using one of these. The product definitely works. It takes time, so users need to be patient and follow the instructions.

      • Is the price good?

        • +2

It is absolutely a great price at $179. I paid around $400 when it was on sale a year ago.

    • +5

Battery? This plugs into the wall.

      • +14

        That explains the battery issue

    • +2

I can only see positive write ups & user reviews

    • It doesn't have a battery, is that the issue?

  • -1

Does it work on the crack?

    • -1

Shave your crack. Let us know how you go

      • +1

If I wanted to know what it's like to shave my crack I wouldn't be asking the question regarding a IPL device.

    • there’s no reason it shouldn’t

    • +2

Yes you just need someone else to hold open your cheeks for you otherwise it's a bit cumbersome

    • +4

It's actually a device to dispense suppositories and using it will give you great wisdom. Will that be cash or credit card, sir/madam?

    • +2

When you click the link the URL becomes accessible.

      • -2

The connection isn't private, you can choose to proceed if you like, but I certainly won't be making any purchases via their site.

  • Did anyone else not get an acknowledgement email or receipt from shaver shop after buying this? Usually automatic I thought?

    • Mine came through instantly

    • +2

I haven't received one either, I have a PayPal receipt but nothing from Shaver Shop directly. No order in my order history either.

      • Me neither

        Just got paypal receipt

BUT got the cashrewards email saying pending my rewards.

      • -1

can u claim the cashback of $100 when u pay via paypal? OP says only via Visa

        • Bugger, I should have read that properly!

        • Actually, yes you can - the cashback comes back in the form of a Pre Paid Visa card. Phew! Terms and Conditions - https://www.philips.com.au/c-dam/b2c/en_AU/promotions/beauty…

        • +2

Cashback is via Visa gift card, there are no conditions as to how you should pay.

        • I think paypal is okay? Anyone tried for claim back?

It says Visa Gift card will be given. (sometime cashback by direct deposit to bank, but this one give the visa gift card)

          • +1

@lai: Claim doesn’t ask for method of payment. Just a receipt .

    • Mine came through

  • +3

The product has "Philips Beauty 90 Day Money Back Guarantee":
    https://www.philips.com.au/c-w/promotions/beauty-90-day-mbg.…

    • But does it work together with the cashback?

      1. The Cash Back Offer is not valid in conjunction with any other promotional offer. The Cash Back
Offer will be available only during the Promotional Period.
      • +1

Not sure about this but i don't think 90 days trial is a promotion, it's like a guarantee thing

  • +1

No email or payment receipt received and it's been more than 1 hour. Did anyone receive it yet?

    • None for me either, and no order history under account details, grrr.

    • I received a confirmation Email right away

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought it last week from ShaverShop eBay for $399 less 10% off. Now bought from ShaverShop for $279 less 7% cashback.

Will be returning back the eBay one.

  • Will it work to remove hair above lips for teenager? Any side effect? Will the hair grows faster and thicker?

    • -1

It should work and no it shouldn't make the hair grow faster and thicker (that happens with shaving). Check out few videos on YouTube, I have heard that it works best on Face, followed by Lower Legs… Doesn't work quite well on the underarms from what I have heard

      • Thanks, any side effect such as redness?

        • not based on my research but haven't tried it yet!

      • +8

Shaving does not make your hair grow thicker and faster. It doesn't make the tip of the hair blunt which may give the appearance of being thick.

      • +1

        (that happens with shaving).

That is an old wives tale lol. There is no physiological response to make that happen

  • Got one, thanx OP.

Also, use coupon SHAVE10 to knock another $10 off.

    • +4

you would risk losing $17 in cashrewards though as the coupon is not listed there

      • +1

Actually didn't know that was a thing..

        • Didn't know what is cashrewards or losing cashrewards?

          • +1

@IMadeYouReadThis: Losing CW using a coupon, haven't used it much before.

            • @narz: Apparently it's only if the coupon isn't listed on their website.

      • You mean $19.53?

  • Thanks op, I ordered one. Hope shaver shop have enough capacity to fill orders up til mine. Fingers crossed :)

  • Does this model flash continuously for larger areas or can you only do one spot at a time.

  • can you use it on ears?

  • Tempted to get one for the wife for Christmas but I am certain it will be another device that sits in the box unused.

Good deal though, if you need one.

    • +3

Getting the wife an IPL machine may be like getting her some exercise gear - don't do it unless she asks you!

      • ….or a diet plan, gym membership, etc.

        Good point.

        • +4

Just don't buy her food - no need for a diet plan then.

    • This isn't designed to sit in the box. It's designed to do outside the box

  • Bought, thanks OP.

Can run a backyard IPL business on Gumtree to pay for it back if it doesn't work for my thick manly hairs.

    • hairs

      hmmm

      • Is it still just 'hair' if I meant more than one area of hair?

  • Wow that was quick, already got shipping notification from AusPost. Ordered less than an hr ago!

  • +3

  • +1

Having the same problem, goes to $379 in the cart

  • +2

The price on the site has now changed to $379, $279 after cashback.

  • +1

    damm miss it

  • Now showing $379 on the website

  • +1

    (profanity). MFers jacked the price.

  • +4

Pretty scummy of shavershop to jack prices after seeing popularity.

    • +1

This. Boycott dodgy practices like this.

    • 404 error now. Ozbargained!

  • +1

Some nice classic price jacking, didn't expect that from shavershop
