    Same price at officeworks.
Also, all colors are discounted at all places. They've just ran out of most peach/rosy at big W.

    • Correct & updated.
      Thanks.

Save your money for a Garmin deal… fitbit are done.

    • +1

Why? Fitbits software is still better than Garmins as far as I can tell.

      • +2

Depends on what you want to use it for. The Fitbit app is leaps and bounds more user friendly than Garmin Connect, but as far as the hardware goes Garmin is superior.

Fitbit for sleep/step tracking. Garmin for GPS, navigating trails, swimming and pretty much anything else.

    • To be honest Garmin are not too far behind "done" too. You should really save up and get the new Apple Watch if you can, I'm on Android so I'm stuffed and have no good options.

      • Samsung Gear or a Fossil.

      • -1

The Samsung gear is a strong contender, but no doubt Apple is superior in the smartwatch space; especially with their series 4.

      • +6

Apple watch is only good if you want a watch you have to charge every night. No good for sleep tracking. Fitbit Versa is a better balance of features vs battery life. The new Samsung watch too.

      • the galaxy watch is really good. I have the 42mm 4g version and go to bed at night with 75% battery left if I didn't exercise, or about 60% left if i go for a 1hr run.

It doesn't have the app support of the apple watch but if you want calls/texts/notifications & exercise it's a great choice. And it looks like a real watch.

I have a versa and love it.

The fact I only need to charge it once a week is a life saver.

I did a lot of research and the Versa just made sense for me.

  • How accurate is this for steps/exercise detection/heart rate? Also does it have music controls to control your phone?

    • I moved from Apple to android. And as a result from Apple watch to fitbit versa.

Fwiw I think the steps, exercise and HR all appear to be close to my Apple watch. Nothing jumps out as especially different. This means in example they are both as accurate as each other.

And yes it does control music on your phone.

Overall I really like the much stronger battery life. I miss that it's not nearly as polished as Apple watch. Not sure which is better though. I do like sleep tracker.

  • Which is better Fitbit Versa or Fitbit charge 3 ?

    • +1

Versa. Only benefits of the charge are if you want something smaller and once they go on sale, should be cheaper.

    • +2

Depends what you want. Some people want a 'watch'/fashion accessory, some people want a fitness tracker.

Personally I find the Versa a bit rubbish in that its not built for purpose. As a result you get a device that's OK at everything but not really great at anything. Battery life is the biggest disappointment at about 4 days. Loses roughly 25% per day. Really needed built-in GPS. A lot of people find them uncomfortable on their wrist because of the back profile, try one on first.

The Fitbit Charge on the other hand is built for purpose. Battery goes for 7+ days, etc. and it does what it does. You can't really complain about it other than assisted GPS (which the Versa has too). It looks like a fitness tracker and behaves like one. Also does not have built-in GPS, but its small, light so you can forgive it.

      • Woww thank you for the great response…definitely gonna stick with the charge 3 for sure !!

Seems to be showing up as $249 for me??

  • Does this work with Google Pay?

    • No but you can load some Credit cards on it. (Not all my commbank one worked but my citibank doesn't) Shame because I never use my Commbank card.

  • Any deals with the Ionic?

  • +3

Can now get this for $205 if applying the code FF10 at checkout

    • Yep, managed to grab one for $197 before they increased the price :)
