  • Anyone use this for toddlers about to start toilet training?

I'm worried about the carpet in the house.

      You should be..

    • Have a look at the photos in the link … it clearly shows the lady, cleaning turds on a baby seat. So it'll be perfect for your application.

      • ?

        Not a turd in sight

      • On closer inspection, that reminds me of something else, hmmm.

    • Should be fine, but don’t worry too much. Most accidents are just wee and the poos rarely escape the underpants.
      Sorry to the non-parents lol.

      • True. Unless the kids go through the "hiding behind furniture when they need to go" phase….

    • These are good for small spots. Forget about doing this regularly on larger areas. Biggest problem (IMO) is the brush part is just that - a static brush. It relies on your elbow grease to work. The suction is just a wet vac. I think the version sold by Harvey Norman with the Stain Trapper Tool would be a better bet as the mess gets caught in the trapper before going right through the vac. You can purchase the trapper tool separately but it's about $50 on it's own. The Harvey version is also the pro model with longer warranty. NO affiliation with HN just did some research before buying mine (I have the Bing Lee purple version).

  • I still maintain, compared to a high pressure system you'd rent\buy industrial, this is a bad purchase.

Your better solution is a RYOBI wet\dry vacuum from bunnings for around $60~70, and a $1 spray bottle of EXTREMELY MILD soapy water, and a non-rinse carpet cleaner (like novac).

You're guaranteed a monster of a vacuum, and you can accurately control how wet you get your carpets, based on how long your car has to dry.

    • I own a SpotClean, can vouch how good it is on carpet. Like anything though preparation of surface is key.

For me its removed wine stains, pen, texta and most of the black shoe scuff.

      On upholstery, its okay

    • Thanks man. I never thought about that. I need to wash the rugs and I already have a Kaarcher wet/dry vac. Never thought about using it like this!

Further to my previous post, if anyone wants to pursue this option, a really good cheap cleaning product is Sodium Percarbonate. Its the active ingredient in Oxyclean or Napisan. But buying it in its powdered concentrated form is super cheap. I got it from a home brew shop for cleaning bottles and fermentors. Benefits include:
        * No environmental hazards - breaks down to oxygen, water and sodium carbonate (soda ash) in your wash water. No odour.
        * Color safe and fabric safe. It brightens colors.
        * Continual use will not cause yellowing or graying of cotton fabric.
        * Effective stain removal in a broad range of water temperatures.
        * Lengthens time between linen replacement.
        * Prevents fabric from becoming yellowed or darkened.
        * Does not weaken the strength of fabrics like chlorine bleach.
        * In the laundry Sodium Percarbonate is used to destain, deodorize, and whiten. It is very effective as a laundry pre-soak for heavily stained articles.

Im going to try a solution of this on the rugs and couch and then vacuum up the liquid with the Kaarcher Shop Vac to help it dry.

    • The benefit of this is it's a single unit with the detergent, brush and spray in the kit. The neg is it doesn't hold much dirty water and not really sure if it will deteriorate when using non oem detergents. I've had to clean an area on a mattress and small carpet spills and this unit is perfect for that. Not so good on larger carpet areas.

  • It shows $189.00. Is the deal expired?
