Kogan 30" Curved 21:9 Ultrawide 75Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor (2560x1080) $289 + Delivery @ Dick Smith / Kogan

60

Very good deal on a 30" curved ultrawide monitor from Dick Smith / Kogan, only drawback may be that it is a VA panel. Would be interested to see others opinions if they have bought this panel or something similar as from what I have heard I think 30" is about the biggest 1080p panel you would want to go.

Massive 30” 21:9 Ultrawide Display
Smooth 75Hz refresh rate
FreeSync gaming support
Rapid 8ms response time
VA Panel for excellent contrast

Every person i know that has a kogan product says its shit….. yet to meet someone who likes them.
"You get what you pay for … is the best way to put it .

Totally agree. I bought a 200 hz freesync monitor. Bought a new AMD graphics card - for some reason when freesync was on the screen never worked. Kogan were confident it isnt the monitor and blamed it on the graphics card - so had to deal with the graphics card RMA to get it replaced. The replacement also showed the same issue. So demanded Kogan for a refund. Bought a new AOC freesync monitor and it has no issues! Lesson learnt - Never trust a Kogan 'gaming' monitor!

I have a Kogan battery bank that I really like - it was really cheap, and good enough that I ended up buying them for most of my family, and they're all going strong.

I like their products so I must be the first.
I have a kogan plans for my girlfriend and son and daughter they are good value.
I brought a DC fan last year and been working well.
I have been generally happy and one item was faulty they quite good at fixing the problem.
Better service than some of well know brands.

    • I have had a Kogan Microwave for 3 years that did three times as much for half the price of other brands at the time. Microwave, convection etc. and still going strong. I have bought various other gadgets from them that still work and worked well from day one. I also admit I sometimes see a product they have and buy it at half their price on Ali Express or ebay. It's not all shit.

    • I bought a Kogan TV 2 years ago and it's still going strong.

The 8ms negates anything 'gaming' about this monitor

    • Considering its only 75hz, latency under 10ms wont be technically noticeable.

That's not how latency vs refresh rates works. Latency is how long it takes the screen to recieve the 75 frames from the computer, refresh rate is then how many it shows in the following second. Ie. With a 10ms 75hz monitor in the first 1.01 seconds you will get 75 frames, not the first second.

I have an lg 34" Ultrawide at 1080P, and I agree the resolution is not great at this size with office apps etc with windows 8, windows 10 and macOS. Interestingly on windows 7 it was perfect, but windows 8+ introduced scaling and no matter what I do fonts look terrible at this "low" resolution, which is stupid.
When I use it for gaming however, I am quite happy with 1080P and the 34" Ultrawide aspect ratio, especially for car racing games.

    Cheers
