        • Outer gates for tickets and no tickets were opened at the same time for the same area. Then there was another queue in the rocks to enter the designated area. It was chaos.

          • @bashar20: I was here then at the East Circular Quay gate, we waited for about 30 minutes after they opened the gate then I asked one of the police officors by the gate and he said "Yeah everyone one has tickets that is in the queue. Your best bet is to find another vantage point if I were you. This happens every year!"

This is when I went to the rock area near Dawes point but it was closed. I talked to the gate guard and showed him my tickets and he said he couldn't let me in here as this is for EC Quay. He said they have to let you in as these are legitimate tickets!

So then I thought maybe everyone at the EC Quay didnt have tickets and the crowd was just waiting for an opportunity. So i went back to EC Quay and the gate was closed again. I managed to talk to the gate guard and he said "Nope, its closed. We opened the gates but we didnt let any one in as it was full."

I ended up going home. Maybe if i wanted a little longer I would have been able to enter if you are talking about the EC Quay gate.

I am definitely not doing this again.

            • @exidez: I am sorry to hear about your experience. I was intending to go to EC quay first then had a change of heart the day before.. So I gave away the EC Quay tickets and went to Campbell cove instead.

There was a huge gate numbered 7 and a tiny area on the other side with a ticketed entry sign. Both doors were closed. After 9pm fireworks many people exited between both entry gates. They didn’t open gates till 40min later.
Somehow they opened both gates at same time for ticketed and unticketed and we shared the same area walking up. The area was badly signed and crowded. Finally I found an entry point to Campbell cove. And we didn’t get in till 10:30 for no obvious reason. Campbell cove wasn’t that crowded over all. The journey back home was chaotic. This has been my worst experience to date. Many uncivilaised people and total lack of organisation with 100s of Poeple trying to sneak in.

              • @bashar20: were people able to "Sneak In"? or try and failed?

                • @ATTS: security kept telling people on the outside that they needed tickets to enter. However they didnt check or ask for tickets when we entered despite having our tickets ready for inspection. So I am not sure.
The area was not that crowded at Campbell's cove despite us only entering at 10:30pm for no obvious reason.
The whole organistaion this year was a clusterf*ck!!!

              • @bashar20: I tried to go to Campbell's cove around 10-10:30 and the road into it was closed. Despite asking numerous people how to get there with my ticket, I couldn't get there.

Ended up going to the part before Dawes Point.

Leaving was a mess as everyone was funneled down 1 road into george st.

  • No point having tickets when all the entries are closed lol.
