It’s not worth making a new post on this so I’m just going to randomly drop it in here:

A double quarter pounder minus one quarter pound beef patty is 75c cheaper than a standard quarter pounder, and you get an extra slice of cheese.

I’m sure there are more hacks. Anyone got any?

    • +5

Another one is the $5 small McOz meal.
      a. It’s cheaper than the burger on it’s own.
      b. You can customise it and turn it into a quarter pounder or whatever
      c. You can upsize the drink to medium or large and save a bunch of money compared to a medium or large meal. However you’re stuck with the small fries.

      • +5

You can add as much ketchup, mustard, onions or pickles for free with no extra charge.

        • +4

Also, hamburger with cheese on side is $1.6 cheeseburger

          • @[Deactivated]: Now you’re talking. Is there a way to do that with the app?

            • @[Deactivated]: The ketchup, mustard, onions or pickles yes im pretty sure.

The cheese, sadly no, employees cant even add it to the burger for you order, you have to specifically ask for it on the side, and you might have to persist because store managers can pressure them to say no. You can also just get a piece of cheese in a seperate order outside of the app

              • @[Deactivated]: The onion costs money at the stores I go to, so I don't ask for extra, but sometimes they don't give me any.

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: I came across a hardline emplyee on adding the cheese to 2x $1 hamburgers, she wouldnt budge and pretty much laughed at me. I then told her to add cheese to my 2 small mchicken for $9 meals. Job done- transfered the cheese. Some of them are so loyal to ronald.

          • @[Deactivated]: I ordered $1 hamburger and asked for them to add cheese. They ended up changing the order to a cheeseburger at full price :/

            • @brandogs: So tell them you didn't order a cheeseburger. Tell them you ordered a hamburger with cheese.

              • @Tacooo: I'm thinking some maccas restrict what the cashier can do to stop loopholes. I tried editing on the app and on the kiosk and both wouldnt allow to add cheese, so I'm thinking the workers may also be restricted at my local. I also tried asking for hot fudge on my $1.50 Mcflurry and they said there was no button for it.

                • +3

@brandogs: Tell them you're allergic to cheeseburgers. You can only have hamburgers. With a slice of cheese.

                • @brandogs: … there was no button for it.

Mmmyeah, this is the proverbial 'computer says no'… :)

Another flaw in the maccas systems I have noticed is that when you order a $1 burger via the electronic/self-ordering interface (in-store), it 'cheerfully' allows you to 'customise' that burger by adding extra mustard, onions and pickles, but evidently these 'customisation' requests never actually make it through to the 'kitchen'. What you get (always) is the standard burger.

Of course I would never complain about such a trifling thing at the actual outlet, and the first time it happened I thought that maybe it was just some poor newbie who forgot to check for 'customisations' or sommat like that. Four or five similar orders later, it seems obvious to me that the in-store 'E-ordering interface' allows you to specify these customisations, but at least re the $1 burgers, they are not actually transmitted to the dude making your burger.

It's no biggy of course, I actually like maccas (even 'as a company' I mean), but I am hoping that someone from maccas with the authority to investigate this '$1 burger customisation flaw' will read this, and… well, fix it. Either it should not be offered by the E-interface, OR it should be actually done when the user opts for it. Allowing the user to opt for it but then not actually providing it is obviously going to annoy a few peeps.

                  • @GnarlyKnuckles: As a high up employee, we purposely don't allow the POS or Kiosks to do "hacks" like this, but if you ask for cheese on the side they can do that, or go up after you have received your order and just pay for a piece of cheese, which is $0.60. Some of them do decline and they will keep saying no, and if you say, "can i have a hamburger with cheese" they will reply thats the cheese burger and charger you the $3.60.

GnarlyKnuckles, are you sure the customisations are not going through? because if it says the changes on the receipt it will be in the kitchen, although some back area crew, do not put the required custom stickers on customised burgers, and front area, pick up the wrong burger and hand it out.

Just going to add one more on the $5 McOz meal…

Remove the meat and for a grand total of $2.75 you have a cheese and salad sandwich, small fries and small coke.

        • This is a stroke of genius. Can this all be done and paid for via the in-store E-ordering interface thingy?!? And can I add extra pickles and onions to it for free?!?

          • +1

@GnarlyKnuckles: Indeed you can. Also, back in the McFeast days removing the patty would make this into a $1.50 deal.

    • +4

Asking for 2x soft serve cones in a lid with a topping of oreos/m&m’s gets you a mcflurry for $2

A double quarter pounder minus one quarter pound beef patty is 75c cheaper than a standard quarter pounder, and you get an extra slice of cheese.

How much will they pay me if I subtract everything?

      • At one point there was a 2 burger deal where removing all the patties made the order $-1~. Don't know what actually happens if you order it though.

    • or you can order a small McOz meal, no beetroot, no lettuce no tomato, which in turn makes it a quarter pounder, and pay $5!! and just to piss them off a little bit more, ask for the beetroot lettuce and tomato to be placed in a second box, and use it in a roll the next day for lunch. Or just order a roll by itself for 75c from maccas!

  • Can I habe hamburger pls?

    • no! bad boi!

      only nuggers.

      • +1

        chicken nuggers
        french fried
        sweer potato

  • +1

Not so much a menu hack but if you're ordering $10 or more get 25% off each order just by making a new account with a throw away email address.

  • I love how you waited until the end of the day to post something that's revealed at 4am and expires at midnight.

    • Awww, the '30 days of deals' calendar was posted ages ago by some kind soul, so essentially this was a dupe… but not a bad one. You should just consider it a 'gentle reminder', PottyPants.

  • +1

The way it says 'expired' looks like the deal is for "$1 for expired Maccas cheeseburgers"…
