Woweeee, It's an advent calendar of diabeetus!

      • +11

Except advent calendars don't usually require you to pay for what you get out of them.

I can't help but think all those prices should be the usual prices. McDonald's is far too expensive for me these days and the food is totally underwhelming.

        • +2

The only redeeming factor is that it's very soft. So it's good for elderly people and those suffering advanced tooth decay from daily soft drink consumption.

        • They used to at least taste good, don't they?

        • I can't help but think all those prices should be the usual prices.

Well they’re certainly not losing money at these prices, that’s for sure.

    • +4

Over $100 if you redeem the daily deal throughout November :D
Whoever redeems all 30 should get a medal.

      • +2

Is it real gold? Can I melt it down and use it to pay for a triple heart bypass?

        • +7

Knowing Ozbargain it will be a paper certificate, printed via the free work printer :D

      • How long did that take you to type up?

      • That workout schedule is absurd, no rest days? Come on

    • Bring on 23rd November. The McChicken is my favourite, but they are super stingy on the mayo and lettuce. At this price I can add extra mayo and lettuce and still be ahead.

      • No customization on deals.

        • Another reason I don't go there. They're a ripoff shop.

    • Most of OZ bargainers will be rush to Emergency Room because of this post.

        • You've met Jenny ????

Hmmm, 30 days of Maccas. Wasn't the movie 'Supersize Me' all about that?

    • +19

It's the next stage of the experiment.

      • +13

        Supersize Australia.

    • +14

Supersize me was carefully manufactured mistruth.

      • Thank you Donald.

      • +4

Doesn't change the truth that if you're overweight you shouldn't be eating this food with any regularity at all.

      • +1

        Like every Michael Moore mockumentary.

  • Is the suggestive sell key a programmable button you can assign to the specific item on that day?

Also, what are the odds Maccas will make you take down the picture?

    • In theory should be 100%. Not allowed to post crew photos anywhere, not even allowed to (really) share it to our families.
No it isn't a programmable button - it is basically an item (from what I can see) that the crew need to remember and suggestive sell it to customers

Dupe with forum post or maybe credit this dude as a courtesy

    • +6

It was posted as a preview where employees saw a poster hinting at some of the deals a few weeks before. The actual calendar was released today (8th October) for the full list.

  • +8

No coffee deals is a bit disappointing. I miss all those free/$1/$2 coffee deals that kept coming up for a while there.

    • Yeah I agree

    • I've been targeted with at least one a week for the last month or so.

    • I still get some - but then again, having dozens of accounts from the same gmail address is useful. :)

    • Become a senior with a senior's card. You get a free drink with a minimum $4 purchase (at least in Victoria).

      • Late reply.
But this is dependent on each store, the minimum at mine is $3 (CBD).

  • +2

What does suggestive sell key mean?

    • +15

would you like fries with that?

    • What they try to upsell to you. Looks like they're gonna hassle us when we go up to pay, lol.

      • +5

Pay with the app. No human contact required until pickup. Unless u own a slavebot. Hail our future robotic overlords! (".")/*

      • How the hell did they decide those matches? Who thought that the perfect combo to a large sundae would be a large chips?

        • America

        • +1

Dipping fries into a caramel sundae is the bomb. Don't knock it til you've tried it. :)

  • +14

30 days of bug and stability fixes would be far more welcome. The app very rarely doesn't freeze within a second of opening.

    • McClassic

    • 2 times they have double ordered and charged it without me being there. i only noticed when i seen the order drive thru emails.

if you go to your emails and search for "order drive thru" and look at the dates you can tell if they stole money off you if there are 2 of them on the same day.

      • how to redeem / use the app ?

can i just show it over the counter and pay cash ? like hungry jacks ?

      • So the app is taking even more money on, top of the money it loses the user by being installed, by conducting fraudulent transactions? This is a pretty serious allegation.

        • Dispute it with your bank is Maccas approach.

  • +2

Health problems sorted for a month :D

    Thank you, I love ozbargain!

  • +1

This is not going to end well…

  • +16

$2.00 should be for the normal price for the Big Mac, seeing it's so small now.

  • nxilson, is it limited to one per order per day or atleast two. Sundae I'm looking at you.

    • +2

It’ll appear under My Rewards, therefore each offer is one use only.

      • Thats why you have multiple accounts :)

        • -3

Then you'd have to pick up at multiple restaurants

  • +2

Awesome, better start running again now cos i'm gonna be eating unhealthy in November.

  • +2

    So phone is fine?

  • Was hoping to cut down on Maccas next month once I had used the free Monopoly food vouchers! This is not going to help! I like Maccas and I like a bargain! 😟

    • Win win!!

  • -1

30 days of cholesterol intake and bad health.
But who cares? Thanks OP. Lunch is sorted for today at least.

    • +3

      You're in November already?

      • +1

:( Realized its staring in November but I had the $3 for 6 nuggets today in my app along with $1 sundae so lunch was really sorted.

  • +6

These should be standard prices. Maccas so overpriced.

    • Overpriced compared to what?

      • Probably Coles/Woolies haha lol :)

      • Compared to old McDonald's.

        • +2

From sober October to Fat November.

  • +2

If only Maccas would get with the times and offer non meat alternatives to their burger patties.

    • +4

I'm not vegetarian but I totally agree.

Surely they can come up with a tasty non meat option.

      • +1

        tasty non meat option

        = oxymoron :p

        • oxymoron :p.

          Not really.

Beyond meat approximates the umami and texture profiles of beef to an extent, that given no prior knowledge of the substance, would potentially lead me to conclude that it was beef.

          The only differences detected are:
.Umami profile of beyond meat is slightly less pronounced than beef.
.The beyond meat texture was a bit less compact than beef.

Else, beyond meat is a near perfect substitute to beef.

          So it tastes dam good.

    • +2

Especially when HJs have not only a vegetarian option (which they've had for years) but a vegan option now: https://www.hungryjacks.com.au/menu/whopper/vegan-cheeseburg…

    • +2

Agree and they can bring in their hit menu items from India or other countries with more veg ppl.

    • +4

The idiots that work there can't even separate fish from chicken in the fryer, how the hell do you think they could do it with vegan food?

      • +1

Not really fussed on that sort of thing, it's not like you are contributing to the demand for meat by having your food cooked on the same grill as meat. Also I am not a vegetarian either, so I will still eat meat, I just try to go for non meat alternatives as often as possible.

        • If McDonald's will have a vegan option, there will be new rules to ensure that it has it's own grill, and own spot to not be contaminated.

    • -1

Vegetarian is derived from the Hindi word for 'bad hunter'.

    • What happened to the salad they used to sell?

      • McDonald's and salad is like going to a bar and asking for hot tea.. sure you can do it but who does that?

  • More burgers…

  • +1

    So pixelated

  • -2

Serious question - can someone explain why a week in an Aussie calendar would start on Sunday? It seems as impractical and confusing as writing dates mm/dd/yy.

EDIT: Ite, I guess it's nothing else than (Jewish/Muslim/Christian) tradition.

    • +1

I've always considered the week to start on a sunday, but i prefer calendars to start on a monday - easier to see what's on for the weekend if it's grouped together

  • Macca's food festival month.
