Is it just me, or are some comments coming up grey? or are these just comments that are getting voted down?

    Hmm, maybe they are comments that you have to send overseas if service is required? :)

    Hmm, there's also a grey sign on the frontpage dated Jan 1, 1970.

    (My guess is that Scott is working on the site, as he commited some other changes a couple of hours ago)

    I see grey comments too, It seems that a comment that has a neg is greyed out. The more negs a comment has, the more grey out is appears to be.

      Seems to be the case, though I suspect there's a threshold where the colour remains the same after x amount of negatives. Otherwise, this would only be visible on a black background.

      [edit]: just checked, the threshold is -3.

          Yay with fading comments.

          What about comments with lots of positive votes? Something like this?

          Although, there is a downside with using fading comments because negged comments will then be more likely to be ignored. Sometimes even though a comment gets negged, people do often make fair points that isn't obvious at first, but later gets agreements later on.

    Yes greyed comment to semi-hide the negative voted comments, before hiding them completely when they go over the threshold (for those don't have "Show all hidden comments" turned on).

    Positive votes — yes need some ideas for those to highlight the positive voted comments as well. Animated dancing ponies in the background?

      Animated jumpy boobs next to the time stamp. Or at least an option in settings to choose from one of few little gifs so those of us who would want it can have the jumpy boobs. :P

      Err. If someone goes in to vote +1 for the hidden comments, then yes it can come back to visible again.
