Scoopon -Golden Bucket Cleaning -

Did anyone else buy the Golden Bucket Cleaning deal from SCOOPON? Interested to know if anyone managed to use their voucher? I had to my 2 cleans booked however they didn't bother to turn up. I tried calling and emailing several times with no response. They never answer their phone, its always on answering machine.
Those that have contacted Scoopon for a refund so far have apparently been unsuccessful. NOT HAPPY!!!

  • I am beginning to think that vouchers for any personal service that lasts more than an hour, hour and a half, should not be bought. It is too difficult for these sellers to fulfill them. This would be for deluxe spa packages that include a massage and other things, cleaning, etc.

    Also, keep in mind that a lot of these maintenance companies that sell a couple of hours are probably just looking at it as an extended sales call. This would include car maintenance.

    File a scam to Fair Trade Department in your state.

    File a charge back claim to your credit card provider.

    No need to worry too much, just don't bother using group buys for non-reputable business in the future.

    Im the same, I ordered the cleans, and they sent me a very dodgy email back saying "Sorry about that" and 2 different dates I could have my clean. Sorry about what?? That they were about to scam me?? I chose a date, and booked it in. I sent an email to confirm on the monday and nothing back… then the day before my big dinner party, they never showed up. I rang and rang and rang… sent emails… nothing. Good scam. Have contacted Scoopon 3 times now! The first email I recieved back from them was a generic email telling me they are sorry that I could not find my voucher on the website and instructions for accessing it… Ah I never mentioned anything about that sort of issue. Resent email last friday, still nothing. Just sent email saying they have till 4 today to contact me or Im going A current affair and Minister of fair traiding…

    Even if they tuen up, do not let them in your house. How could you trust these people around your belongings?

  • We were scammed also. Made a booking but they were a no show. We called various numbers listed for this company only to get voicemail/automated message saying they were inundated with calls (at all hours?). They claim to run a 24 hr support number for those cleaning "emergencies"… obviously nothing but a crock.

    I have requested a refund from Scoopon, I've emailed them twice, still yet to receive an email from them that isn't an automated email.

    Love how they don't have a contact number.. I wouldn't have a contact number too if I was in the business of being dodgy!

    Will be lodging a complaint with the dept of fair trading.

  • DealMe is offering a $45 clean in perth. No way would I touch it. I have yet to hear of one person happy with this type of service.

  • I too have been scammed so it seems. I purchased the scoopon deal also. Golden Bucket were supposed to turn up at 10am this morning. There phone goes to msg bank, I have sent them a nasty email but I dont think I can expect a reply. Ive also emailed scoopon hope to hear from them.
    Has anyone had any luck re-couping their money?
    Disappointed :(

  • I have experienced similar issues with goldenbucket. Had issues contacting them by email and phone (recorded message all the time). Finally booked an appointment in and no one turned up. Rang to ask where the cleaner was and have had no response to date. Logged issue with SCOUPON and am awaiting feedback from all parties. So far I am very unimpressed with the level of service provided by all parties.

    I've waited for a response from both Golden Bucket and Scoopon. I never received an acknowledgement regarding my complaint (3 emails to Scoopon to date), as far as I'm concerned, that customer service email address is a massive black hole.

    I'm done waiting. I've logged a complaint with the Department of Fair Trading and have also logged a dispute with my credit card provider, both have been extremely helpful (what a change!).

    I saw one woman had to wait 3 months for a refund from Scoopon. That may be acceptable to some but I actually work to earn my money (not scam people like some), so I'm not going to sit around and just let someone take it from me for nothing.

      • I got an email yesterday advising that my request for a refund has been submitted and that I should receive it within 5 days.

        I will let you know if I receive it.

        My husband and I have bought many Scoopon's before and have had no issues, unfortunately, this experience has turned us off ever going back.

        If Scoopon only had a customer support phone number where we could confirm that our emails had not fallen into the abyss, I wouldn't have felt the need to contact the Dept of Fair Trading and my bank. Sometimes, being able to talk to someone can make all the difference.

  • I too have been had. I purchased this Scoopon - I have left 9 voicemail messages on their answering machine. I have not received a response. I have emailed Scoopon and am awaiting their reply. If I do not receive a full refund in the next five days - I will be taking legal action. NOT HAPPY.

I will continue to purchase scoopons - regardless of the services - *** IF *** I can have faith that Scoopon has a fast recovery / refund process in situations such as these.     I too have been scammed by this company. They only have an engaged ring tone now and they don't bother even answering emails requesting dates to clean. Anyway, SCOOPON seems to be well aware of this and were pretty quick to get my details for a refund. Hopefully I will hear back soon. The company were obviously either a total scam to start with, or got well over their head with 2100 SCOOPONS sold.

  • I used a scoopon for a day spa today.

    Good service, except on the previous visit (also with a scoopon) I was given a gift voucher and was told that I could use it to add on a service to the NEXT scoopon appointment I was booking. I booked both the scoopon service and the gift voucher service more than a month ago BUT was told (nicely) today that I would have to use that gift voucher on a subsequent visit. The gift voucher expires in a month and I would have booked in for something already if they hadn't told me that I could piggy back another service onto the scoopon service. But I will be able to use it and it is incredible value over and above the scoopon pamper I got today. But I digress….

    I was told that in their instance Scoopon gave them 70% of the money and it was given to them pretty much straight away. There are two ways to look at this. One, is that they risk our money by giving it before we are even able to book an appointment (ie Rejuva Skin / Elegant Touch - Those businesses could close or be sold before we even get to use our scoopons since they bare booking more than a year out.) Too late for cc chargeback then. Second thought is that 30% is a huge percentage and they probably have a reserve, or should, for bad deals.

    I thought I would let you all know that my refund has been processed.

  • Another cleaning company is selling scoopons today in Perth. $49 for a 4X2. They limit the size of your rooms, presumably including your lounge room, but do not say what the charge will be if the room is larger than 4X3m (12 sqm). They really should spell this sort of stuff out in the deals. It'll only lead to agitation later. They are going to sell out anyway, so why not say it'll be an extra $10 for an oversized room or however they do do it. Anyway, how much extra work is a 18 sqm room than a 12 sqm room. Still one bed (maybe two if it's a kid's room. About 1 minute more vacuuming.

    Over 700 sold in 43 minutes. It will (hopefully) sell out by 1pm and they will then hopefully have another deal to list.

    Google mapped the address for Golden Bucket and some random house address in NSW came up? Not a good sign.

  • I’m a victim of this scam too. I did some research on the company. It appears to be owned by a HELEN MARGARET TRYFONAS in NSW. However when you do a White Pages search of this surname it doesn’t come up anywhere in Australia - very strange. She was previously trading as H T BOAT REPAIRS of AUSTRALIA back in 2004.
    I have emailed scoopon for a refund. Hopefully they can take legal action to recoup the money they are now losing from this.

    i long ago asked for a refund from Scoopon since Scam Bucket ignored my every phone call and email to make an appointment. my reply was

    Now I am upset to learn that other customers have gained refunds for the same problem that I have had with Golden Bucket. Where does the discrimination from your company stem from? Do I need to get representation from authorities for me to be treated fairly?

        Scoopon, why don't you just "investigate" when you get the initial email complaint? Seems to be hundreds of unhappy people here who have already contacted you and got your standard unhelpful "bad luck we're keepign your money" email, yet you respond with 'contact us again and we'll investigate'.

        Why don't you investigate when you get the initial complaint as any legitimate company (who cared about customer experience) would.

    Hello Scoopon. I have been trying to contact scoopon re a refund re golden bucket. The process to recieve a refund has been very painful indeed. They wanted to know the following:- Scoopon voucher #'s, the last 4 digits of your credit card and the email address that was used to purchase the scoopons. Guess what they removed the vouchers from the scoopon interface, but I had screen prints of the vouchers,just in case. Anyhow the complaint was logged with scoopon on the 31/3, I am still waiting for the refund to arrive in my bank account, with no explanation why goldenbucket has been unable to deliver as per the vouchers. Finally 6/4 I have an email saying it will take 5 days to get my refund. I have sent emails todate to confirm the exact amount to be refunded have not been responded todate. For you reference SCOOPON : Ticket ID: RJR-880359. I am very unhappy with the service and would not recommend or use SCOOPON again.

  • Re Golden Bucket no-show, no-respond I contacted Scoopon at the address they gave on the forum end of March [email protected] and have already received a refund. (Consumer Affairs Victoria were also quick to respond, but I said that Scoopon had already promised a refund.)

Even though I have provided my details to date, and no one indicated they were incorrect, I still don't understand why you need credit card details when the transaction was processed by SCOOPON.     My mother made the mistake of purchasing these and of course the same thing happened to her. She lodged a refund request through Scoopon just as the site says to do when coupons aren't fulfilled. Scoopon investigated and sent her the below email. And true to their word, the money has been refunded back into her account safe and sound.

    So you should all be able to get the same. Stupid Golden Bucket…

    • I actually think that one of those outrage of the day shows would like this story. Current Affair or whatever (I don't watch tv but am sure those types of shows are still around, exposing companies who have allegedly ripped off battlers) You should send them a link to this thread. And the one about the WA car wash place. I am sure it would be in the public interest to know of these types of issues.

          Funnily enough channel 7 in brisbane aired how good the three best online voucher companies were Fri 8/4. SCOOPON was one of the 3. I am sure there maybe deals out there that are legit, but when the refund process is so hard, and golden bucket dont answer emails or phone calls, I just wonder how long SCOOPON knew about this golden bucket issue. And if they knew, why didnt they contact all scoopon holders via an email explaining the situation. And when people are so careful of there spending patterns due to increase in petrol, food, bus fares, electricity, rates, etc, this really annoys me.

        Yep there refund process is very frustrating indeed. I had the same experience. I have logged a complaint with consumer Fairs and have spoken to my bank and issued a refund process. They have said they will send a cheque out but I am still waiitng for a ETA on cheque and a reply to the email I have sent to SCOOPON. I will wait and see who wins first.

  • Alas, I too have been scammed by this one. My clean is booked for tomorrow morning….but after no reply from a recent email I decided to call them (msg bank, of course) and then do some hunting on line which brought up this thread.

    Pleased I found out about it now rather than tomorrow when they just didn't bother to turn up. Now I have a day and a half to clean my house from top to bottom before the in-laws arrive. Sigh.

    Scoopon - I dearly hope that my refund request will not take the path that many above have noted….If so I will be spreading the bad word on my blog and to anyone that will listen about this scam and your unhelpfulness.

          Got my email requesting details to get the refund to…fingers crossed this is a sign of good things to come.

          Would love an explanation from Scoopon as to why they were aware of this scam for weeks and did not contact ALL purchasers to advise them that Golden Bucket were doing the dirty and that refunds would be made. Instead we were all left to be mucked around waiting for the cleaners that were never ever going to turn up.

          Bad form, Scoopon. A little pro-activeness might have kept you some customers.

  • If you look at my older posts I have been waiitng on a cheque from the 14th April, and prior to this I was waiting for a refund from late March. Yes, I am still waiting again. How long does it take to print out a cheque and send ? How about a return email saying how long it will take. Customer service is lacking again and very frustrating. Wont be using or recommending SCOOOPON to anyone, due to the shear frustration and lack of customer service. Learn from your mistakes SCOOPON, as we are providing valuable feedback to your company.

    Scoopon,

    I don;t know how many support people you have to deal with complaints, but you really should find some way to organise it better. Perhaps for one deal, only one support person should deal with complaints. You need to find something as people really feel like you do not read emails and that your deal differently with similar compliants about the same deal.

    You should also make your standard "terms and conditions" for your businesses known to your buyers, that way people might be better equipped to deal with issues directly with the business. Buyers would know what the business signs up for, what they are expected to do.

      Not enough!

      And their "system" of if you email them to chase up, that makes your original email drop to the bottom of the queue is bizzare to say the least.

      Note: I don't have any complaints (yet), only used a couple of scoopons and it's been all good so far.

    I have had the same difficulty contact Golden Bucket - only now the phone number is constantly engaged rather than going through to an answering machine.

    I've emailed scoopon regarding this (HTN 926512).
