[Pre-Order, Switch] Super Smash Bros. Ultimate $58.90 Delivered @ The Gamesmen eBay

1200
P5OFF

Been waiting for the Games men to discount this game for weeks, they always seem to be the best in price when it comes to games on eBay. Make sure to use code P5OFF to get 5% off the original price of $62 which reduces it to $58.9. This game comes out 7/12/18 and I'm excited for it. If you have any questions or queries just let me know in the comments below.

  • Do you think eb games will price match?

    • They would most likely match the price before coupon which is $62.

    • Also has to be this price on release for WB to match

      • that makes sense. Thanks guys =D

    • Nope unless you're local the the Gamesmen in Sydney. They don't match online prices.

    • I tried today and they told. Me they don't price match them :(

  • +5

lowkey hoping Amazon match this price.

    • +1

      Same here.

From past experience, I've received my pre-orders on release date.

      • I did until the most recent one.

Release date was Friday and it didn't arrive until today.

Big Australia Post stuff up. Shipped on Friday express post from Strathfield NSW then went via Perth before finally arriving in Melbourne 5 days later

      • -1

Is this with their standard shipping? I've heard it can take a week for preordered games to come in the mail

        • With Prime Expedited Shipping.

        • Mine was Prime expedited

All the other games I preordered came on time, but it's a risk because you're at the mercy of Australia Post

    • Yep i'm taking the punt they will

    • +2

      Same
      I preordered with APP15, so it'll be $47

      • +1

Same, looking forwards to an even lower price

    1. How do you feel about the new hero in Overwatch
    2. Is there DLC for smash bros. ultimate
      1. Indifferent.
      2. Yes, plenty.
    • +1

The DLC is Piranha Plant for free if you register your game before 31 Jan 2019 and then there will be 5 sets of 1 new fighter and 1 new stage, each set is $7.80 or you can buy them as a bundle for $32.50

      • If my friend plays on a DLC stage, will I be able to play with them? Will nintendo give me any concession if I were to play a private game with them and allow me to pick his DLC characters?

        • If it's the same as Wii U and IIRC, yes to the first question and no to the second.

      • -3

Nickel and diming at it's best.

Many years ago we had great games like MvC2 with heaps of characters built into the game, no DLC required.

Edit: seems like it has heaps of characters. Did they really need to withhold a few just to charge $32.50?

        • I haven't thought about it this way before but the $32.50 is probably going to help with a lot of their costs in building such a large roster. The way I'm gonna look at buying this game now is pay x($58.90) upfront and pay the y(32.50) later lol. Plus, DLC keeps players interested for longer.

  • Jeff pls come back and save WoW thanks

  • +1

tempted to order this now even though I'm still waiting on a killer Black Friday Switch deal lol

Its a good deal but not awesome.

JB HiFi have it for $69.

I'm probably going to get it from my local JB Hifi. Support local shops.

    • +35

Buying from a massive electronics chain that is close to you isn't exactly what "support local shops" means.

    • +4

Aren't gamesmen local? They have a bricks and mortar store afaik

      • Yes, they have a store in Penshurst NSW and it's awesome. The back of the store is filled with retro games and hardware.

    • Paying a premium to be lazy is fine. But this deal is supporting local small business a lot more than buying from JB.

Besides, if you're lazy, get EB to price match the $62 and enjoy free returns if you don't like it.

  • Have the Wii U one is it worth getting this? What extras are in the ultimate edition?

    • Every character in the series is playable in this one

    • +1

Yes, from the previews that came out today, it's alot more expansive then Smash 4. Every character is in Ultimate as well as new comers, 103 stages, new story mode with cutscenes, more single player content and alot more options to change how you want too play it.
Ultimate Edition comes with a steelbook and the Smash Ultimate edition Pro Controller.

    • Smash ultimate comes with a single player mode called world of light. If you haven't seen the trailer for it, you should check it out.

This game is definitely not a port of the Wii U sm4sh

  • Will I get the game earlier with these guys or if I preordered with Amazon?

    • I think it depends where you live, I'm in Sydney and preordered from Gamesmen, received same day as it came out (arrived by the afternoon), game was posted through Aus Post, was pretty quick and easy. Though I live in Sydney and I think Gamesmen is also Sydney?

Amazon I think is done through courier, so I usually get it earlier (by the morning) when I order something through the better shipping. But the time I preordered through the lowest tier shipping (no prime) it took a whole week and a bit before it arrived, wouldn't have bothered preordering otherwise. Though other people might be better (maybe they ran out of the game I wanted?).

      • I've heard it can take a week with Amazon, hence why I'm considering dropping that preorder and getting it elsewhere (Big W, EB), even if it is up to $10 more.

  • Anyone know if its possible to cancel my JB pre-order at $69?
Unfortunately I jumped the gun too early..

    • Call them?

    • Email or call. They will cancel it.

I must be the only person on the planet that doesn't like SSB.

    • Two of us at least…

    • Maybe not. I never played it before and do not feel I will like it. But I will check it for sure

    • played it once, didn't like it, the moves and movement system feels weird to me.

      • +2

It's really best as a local party game

    • I don't like SSB but I'm still getting it for the fanservice. Collecting spirits looks fun.

  • It's happened for other major releases, but any chance EB games will do a trade 2 games for $29 for SSB ?

Got a few unwanted switch games to offload.

There is currently a 25% trade bonus that goes towards pre orders. But not sure if that's worth it.

    • it would make more sense to just sell the games for cash e.g gumtree, facebook market

    • JB Hi-Fi are doing a "trade 2 games and get it for free" deal. But like most of these offers, it's only a set list of games that will work. Get in touch with them to see if the games you want to unload are eligible.

  • Bought. Thanks.

As soon as I pressed 'Purchase' I remembered about Cashrewards. It says you get an extra 5% off if you spend >$50 on Ebay.

    • That's if you use the code p5off

  • Hi, I noticed Gamesmen have Nioh on Ps4 for $22, some quick searching revealed this to be just about an ATL.

Not sure if anyone has seen better, with shipping it's still pretty attractive price. I'm in.

    • +1

It was 20 bucks at jb hifi before. Possibly in a 2 for $40

  • I brought the game with them already, before I see this code. Anyway I can use the code for it? If not its fine, im happy with 62 for smash.

  • Great deal! Since this game will take forever to go down in price, may as well get it now.

Also, gives me an excuse to dust off my switch.

  • Price matched at Amazon now.

    • Excellent, just as this expired.
