    Looks like a capacitor inside the jumper lead. It might actually handle the in rush current… MIGHT

      No, pretty sure this one has Lithium-Iron-Phosphate batteries; the 3.2V ones that are less likely to catch fire than the 3.7V ones.

      I have found the capacitor-based one fiddly to use. I wouldn't put it in my wife's car for example (being a non-technical person).

      You mean the bulge where it plugs in? This is protection against connecting the leads the wrong way.

    Brought one of these - works great jump starting a 3.5l Kluger but my primary use is as a fish finder 12v supply. 2 days use, no problems.

    Got one off these too… Started up my vw tdi… Doesn't start straight away after connecting… Have to wait a few mi s for it to charge the car battery.

      Hi, which model? 2.0 l passat? Do you have to do any thing weird to trick it into not using an authorised vw product? (only half kidding - they are smart but controlling cars imho).

    I bought this a few months ago. It has Lithium batteries inside. So far have used it a few times on small-medium cars and it has worked fine.

    FWIW I bought this for $59.49 from same supplier on Amazon in July. At the time the "normal" price was $84.99 - now $99.99??. AUD has weakened a little since but change only accounts for a few dollars. That's not to say this is a bad deal but if you're not in a rush I suspect there will be other opportunities.
