  • Excellent deal. Does anyone know how the noise compares between the V6/V7/V8? I have tried the V6 (loud) and V8 (quiet), just wanted to see where the V7 sits.

    • I've used both, the V7 is just a tiny bit quieter than the V8.

Wow really? so even quieter than v8? Sorry just making sure you're not making a typo, noise level is my main consideration

        • Mine too!

        • Why is noise level your main consideration over things like "effectiveness of suction" or battery life?

          • @John Kimble: When the baby just fell asleep and you notice crumbs on your favourite couch…

            • @djprima: Wouldn't one of those masking-tape-lint-roller-thingys work in that situation? Practically silent.

  • This, or the Vax VX63 Blade Pet Pro (with a longer runtime of 45 minutes) for $249 (@ Bing Lee)?

You so stupid that not Dyson.

  • My 4 year old DC 59 Animal needs the motor head which is around $125-150. Other than that machine runs fine on animal head.
Is V7 a big upgrade or shall I look for V8 and not buy the head?
Do the current motorhead good for carpet and hard floor or we need fluffy head separately for hard floors.

    • I have the same model and am curious to know also if this is an upgrade

    • I am on the same boat plus having a battery replacement dead within 6 months. So presume you may have to replace your battery any soon which will cost you $85, this deal may make it more worth.

    • Here's another way of thinking about it.

Forget that you own the DC 59. What would you choose:

      1. a 4 year old DC 59 for $125 - $150
      2. A new V7 from this deal
      3. A new V8

You don't necessarily need an "upgrade" just because you already have the DC 59.

Given the choice above, I'd go with the V7 and take what I can get on gumtree for the old DC 59.*

That being said, I re-arranged my house and went with the Xiaomi Robot Vac, and haven't needed to vacuum manually for over a year :)

  • Thanks OP had purchased it. First time using David Jones Amex Card promo, how does the $50 cashback happen?

    • You wait a few days, it gets credited to your card

    • Were you targeted, did you register your card and did you buy it online? If no to all, you're not going to get the credit.

  • Did I registered my card? I bought it online used Amex card.
    No, was not targeted..

Bought via CashRewards redirect then paid via David Jones AMEX CARD

    • i believe you have to add the promo to your card prior to purchasing. unfortunately, the number of users who can add the promo is limited. if you didn't get to add it, you most likely will not get the promo

    • Then you're not going to get the $50 credit to your Amex. You need to register your card and only those who had the offer targeted to them (and I can tell you no one who has a David Jones Amex card got the offer)

    • DAMMIT!!!!!

  • So confused by the models…

Is this the "Motorhead" version? "Cord Free" isn't even listed on the Dyson website….

    https://www.dyson.com/sticks/dyson-v7-overview.html

  • $347 at Myer

  • Shame I was only offered the spend $200 get $30 back… otherwise I totally would've pulled on this with the $50 off….

    Keep waiting I guess.

    • Same here but with shopback cashback it is still $299-)

My click & collect order was cancelled due to low stock in Victoria. They suggested me to order with Delivery option. Anyone has their order cancelled as well?
