  • This stuff actually work?

    • Yes. The Optic White toothpastes are the only 'whitening' toothpaste on the market with any ingredients that actually cause whitening. It's not a miracle product or anything but it works 'the best'. Not sure there's any benefit in the 'express' over the non-express version though, maybe just an excuse to charge more.

      • The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, aka bleach. It's in every whitening toothpaste. Express contains twice as much of it (2%) as regular Optic White.

        • Yeah, however, if you look at all the ingredients of any 'whitening' toothpaste you'll find they contain absolutely no hydrogen peroxide, despite saying 'whitening' on them. The only two that do are the Optic White and Optic White express. The rest are just regular toothpaste with marketing.

The Checkout did a bit on it, and I've previously confirmed by checking all the ones labeled whitening in my local supermarket.

So while there are a half a dozen 'whitening' toothpastes if you believe their labels, these are the only two that have hydrogen peroxide in them.

          • @[Deactivated]: I saw that Checkout episode, apparrently calling a toothpaste "whitening" puts it in the cosmetics category and therefore attracts less regulatory scrutiny, so a slew of brands have dropped their normal toothpaste labels and only sell whitening ones now.

  • Is this as good as it claim? My nearest available store is 17km away. Not sure if worth the drive and max 2 only

    • That's nothing… Unfortunately there are no BIG W Stores with stock of this item within 2000 kms of your location (Brisbane)

      • Hey but it's showing as in stock at Brookside which is in Brisbane right?. I don't think the store stock checker was working right for you.

        • Thanks… Low stock in that store - a 34km return drive (likely none as I've previously found stock system is very inaccurate).
But no stock was available for pickup (for online order) within 2000 kms.

          • @INFIDEL: It was showing as fully in stock when i tried it.

            • @hollykryten: Problem was it did not show as available for online purchase at that store… Stock only available in store. There are 2 separate stock checkers.

    • definitely not worth it for a 17km drive

      • I was going to buy at least 10 but it only let me add 2 to my cart so give it a miss
