A very capable small DSLR camera that is a successor to the acclaimed 100D. Very suited for beginners or as backup DSLR due to it's light weight and small size. This model is positioned above the most entry model of Canon EOS 1500D which Harvey is selling for $493 at https://www.harveynorman.com.au/canon-eos-1500d-dslr-camera-…. However, pay the extra $57 and get the 200D which has more advanced features!

  yes $550 is cheap but historic low was $492.70 back in last Christmas

    Comparing sample shots (not the best I know) I think the Nikon is better for image quality
    But I think Canon user interface is nicer (plus swiveling LCD and Wifi)

      Agreed. I ended up with the canon as wifi was excellent and the screen swivelling out enables me to get good photos.

  I have one of these cameras as a backup/lightweight camera when i'm not using a 1D and 5D.

  As long as you are aware of its limitations - small RAW buffer, only 9 point autofocus, limited configurability but are aware of what it's good at - being small and light, fits all EF and EF-S lenses, Dual Pixel Autofocus, 1080p video at 60fps, good Wifi connectivity including remote shooting plus 24 megapixels with the same sensor as the 80D then it does pretty well.

  I ended up buying from JB Hifi for $560.15 and using Suncorp JB Hifi gift cards at 5% off to pay a total of $532.
