    • 12% cashback through Shopback though, still beats their pricematch.

  • Yay. bought 2.

    • and don't forget Cashback.

  • Can’t be shucked?

No. it can't be rescued either, if usb chipset in enclosure fail, but there's nothing wrong with drive it'self. This is apparently even the case if encryption was turned off when set up & never used.

  • Found a cheaper one from Seagate. What's the difference guys?

Seagate is shit. That's the difference.

      • Lol, seriously speaking - are WD far superior to Seagate?

        • +1

Seriously speaking, yes, Seagate are seriously shit. Seriously.

        • Seagate had a really bad batch of drives years back and their reputation hasn't fully recovered. If you want to see actual data on their reliability look at this:

          • @matthiew: Is this true for the 8tb hard drive that was advertised for $199?

          • @matthiew: but looking at the lifetime mark,

western digital has worse failure percentage rate than seagate based on that research…

      • +2

"Seagate is shit" This is true. I've had 2 Seagate HDDs failed on me within 2 years. My WDs are still going strong after years of use. Will never go back to Seagate.

  • Mine was delivered this morning :)

  • Available again. 3:53pm 26/11.
