Not really, rotary brushes clean better than sonic.
As someone potentially in the market for something around this price, can you suggest an alternative? Is there anything worth spending extra on compared to a basic electric brush?
@roadeh: Oral B, the upper end models are great as they rotate and pulsate, but they cost more.
Both brands are pretty good and much better than manual.

Are the heads interchangeable with other brands or do I have to get Philips only?
After how long usually, would you change the heads?
The posted model was my 3rd Sonicare handle, I am using the fifth one. None of them lasted longer than 1.5 years. At the end of the cycle, the vibration turns so weak that it barely works like an automatic toothbrush. I don't think it's battery issue as I fully charged but still weak. I reckon it's the design flaw on the motor.
I went from a high end Oral B to the Xiami.
