The same sale prices every couple weeks with different discount codes..

    • +4

That's the same as a lot of stuff though. Like Up&Gos at Woolies/Coles, it establishes the base price. If I was in the market for a new phone and didn't have the cash on hand, and saw this deal, I wouldn't pay more a week later, I'd wait till it went on sale again

Thanks TA for all the great deals.

    Stock clearance of non-phone products?
    Only few phones there.

Wow.. Are you a reseller? Normally people buy "a" phone..

      • Nah mate, just a fellow OZBargainer.

  • Mmmmm no iphone S 256g :(

How is the google pixel these days when compared to other phones circa $400 mark?

    • Better camera. Pretty much it.

      • +1

        Better camera

That seems unlikely given the age of the device but provided you have root you can install Google's camera software on any phone AFAIA.

      • +1

Damn. I remember when these came out two years ago for like $1k. They were well overpriced back then, $300 now seems very good… Still wondering there are other phones that out-compete for a similar price with better hardware.

        • I'm honestly not sure you'll find other phones that compete. The Samsung S7 is more expensive from what I found, and it's impossible to find a OnePlus 3t at a price that isn't more than it was when it was new.

The pixel is far and away the best phone released with a Snapdragon 820/821 IMO, the camera is excellent, fast software updates, the phone doesn't really slow down like other Samsungs I've used, it's built like a tank, great battery life. I really can't fault it apart from a slippery finger print sensor.

          • @BenR31415: I like to think my ZTE Axon 7 was a good deal for $350 12 months ago. OLED, headphone jack, same SoC as the Qualcomm SGS7. More than anything though, I like having a phone that isn't the same as everyone else's.

            • @jonathonsunshine: Oh, for sure. Stock was really limited so it was difficult to sell to people when we didn't have any, but it was a great deal while it lasted.

In the current market though it's hard to beat the pixel's value, where there just aren't any "flagship killers" from that generation still available.

            • @jonathonsunshine: For me the Axon 7 at $299 was an awful buy and I would have gladly paid twice that amount to get a phone that has less shitty software. Firmware update process is a pain and the phone lacks basic caller functions like block caller ID and blocking callers!

      • Grey Import but for that price it doesn't really matter imo, good find.

    • +1

I'm still on an og pixel xl. Phone is still as responsive as when I first bought it.

Pretty happy with the phone overall apart from some minor niggles. Wouldn't mind a new phone but don't really want to drop 1k on something that will be a pretty small uograde.

No love for Huawei mate 20 =(

Be careful with these guys. Good prices, but sorely lacking in support and warranty servicing. Bought a phone and an android watch from them. Watch stopped working and it has been with them for about 5 weeks now. They won't give me any useful answer ("we are looking into it" blah blah).

Lucky it was only my watch, as I couldn't do without my phone for that long.

    • Been around for years on OzB. Nothing to be careful about. They're the real deal, and I'm sure they'll look after you.

      • I bought a phone from them a few weeks ago for my mom. No issues with delivery, extremely fast and product arrived well packed and in working order.

        • +1

Yeah good prices and legit stock etc, no concerns there. Just very disappointed with their "warranty", seriously lacking. Had faster turnaround from qd_au. Would never see this from a decent big player.

Obviously not the only determinent, but something to weigh up.

          • +3

@dbglt: I'm assuming they send it off to the manufacturer/supplier and not "repair" it themselves. So it is quite literally out of their hands in terms on waiting time.

            • +3

@googoogaga: That's after they lie and give you the run around. May be different if you're Sydney based.

            • @googoogaga: But as its within warranty period, they should have posted a new one same day, and then put the replacement back in stock.

Ive worked retail before. You probably have too.

Its not hard to do the right thing for people.

      • +3

        They have horrendous customer service.

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up about your experiences, it's good to hear the good, bad and ugly before committing to a rather large purchase. I have never used mobileciti but might give them a go at the right price.

    • +1

      Hi dbglt

As discuss on the PM, due to end of life product and there is no parts/replacement unit available, warranty does take longer then normal however I have manage to get you the credit, will be resolve early next week. Thanks for your patience!

      • +1

Can you tell me why it is a problem for you guys to just replace in warranty just like how Apple does it an Apple store. Just charge it back to your supplier or distributors next invoice. That how JB and Officeworks handles in warranty replacements. Don't tell me that after being in business for so many years, manufacturers still give you guys a run around why sell brands like Huawei who are well known to shun warranty repairs and hardware software issues may just stop selling problematic brands

        • It's unfortunate but I have seen these tendency unfortunately with xxxxxxx owned businesses. I understand you guys run on tight margins but customer service is never the 1st priority for any xxxxxxx owned businesses. Just telling the truth here, every business has its own priorities and they are free to choose whether to place revenue over customer satusfaction and sometime it's difficult probably for Mobileciti to negotiate replacements with manufacturers

        • -3

          If you wanted top notch customer service you should have paid double the price at JBHifi or something. Why don't you stop buying problematic brands. {Insert personal attack here}

          • +2

@jonathonsunshine: manufactures check devices before authorising swap overs, it’s in case people have dropped in water etc which isn’t covered by warranty and may not be visible to mere store staff …. and need a technician from the manufacturer to check.

apple check phones before giving a swap over, for cracked screens and water damage, there is an indicator inside iphones if water has entered the phone. needed new battery outside of warranty so had a good talk at genius bar how their service works as they checked my phone for water ingress.

office works and some other places might do it due to the volumes they move and arrangements they have with suppliers for certain items and ability to keep stock for spares which is expensive, but they don’t have a guarantee or written policy of holding spare stock or being able to swap for new.

telstra used to keep spare phones so they could do straight swap for certain models eg iphones and some samsung’s but you pay for service.

some places have loan phones if yours needs to be sent back.

        • +1

Not always True, I have seen computers or Tv's after six months sent away to the manufacture to be assessed which can take 4-8 weeks because you cant sometimes simply tell if the customer has damaged it, say JB replaces on the spot it it goes back to Samsung they say its physical damage and deny's the claim then you are stuck with an expensive paperweight ? On smaller items (under $500) they usually do this because its a low cost item and to keep customers happy.

  • 2 years warranty for Samsung note 9 dual sim?

  • Guys I'm with Telstra. I want to get Note 9, should I get dual or single sim? I hear dual sim allows the possibility of either having a single sim + sd card or sim + sim and the phone is also unlocked. Are there any other differences between the single and dual sim models??

  • the phones on ebay are way cheaper with the 10% off deal

    • +3

Feel free to post or share if you found better deal.

      • Coupon code is not working for Gold Motorola Moto E4???

  • This is for the telstra model (s9 note). This is something that should be put into the original post. I find it somewhat misleading for people on other carriers.

Correct me if I am wrong and I shall eat worms.

    • Further reading… Network unlocked. Still I'm sure many people would like to know it is a telstra model.
