Yeah i can confirm it's very effective, cool and quiet, big though.

  • Cheers, good price … currently using a Kraken X62 but if I can have the same OC for less noise and no shitty software to turn off lights it'd be nice.

    • I have a Corsair AIO and I feel the same. Pump is very noisy at idle. I have a MSI Seahawk 1080Ti which adds another pump to the mix. Kinda wish I had one of these air coolers and a regular AIB 1080Ti.

      • What size radiator is your Corsair? Pump noise on the Kraken is good but I think the smaller the radiator the harder the pump has to work. But even the Corsair H115i Pro is noisy while beating the much quiter DH-15 by 5 or 6C

The Kraken fans are clearly audible at full speed but I don't want to reduce voltage.

And most Close Loop Coolers (AIO) use aluminium which requires high fan speed compared to same surface area copper for the same energy transfer through the radiator.

(Or all CLC? I think some EK and Eisbaer modular prefilled setups can use copper radiators but they are very expensive)

        • It's the H105. If I switch the motherboard fan header to DC I can volt the pump down at idle and it is much quieter, but I've heard it's not good to volt mod non-PWN pumps.

Under load it's fine. The fans ramp up and I can't hear the pump. It's just idle and the way Corsair/Astek designed their pumps to run at 100% all the time.

      • My Kraken X62 is shit quiet even under load and temperatures are well within reason at 70+ degrees C. I have an overclocked Ryzen 5 1600.

Same here. Cannot apply the coupon

    • Oh! One use per customer didn't read hard enough

  • Solid price for this unit! If it could fit in my case I'd be all over this.

  • can confirm - very good quiet (but big) fan for CPU!

  • i got this bad boy. its very dam quite. build quality is high. the size is irrelevant unless you have a tiny micro pc

    • Leave my p3n0r5 out of this … no wait.

I have this inside a Bitfenix Prodigy, which is tiny. It looks comical, but works amazingly well.

      • ozbargain post of the year haha. thats a top effort!

  • Great price. I have been running one of these for last 2 1/2 years paired with 6700k. Works a charm. Size was an issue during the assembly though.

  • Code works for me. Thanks.

  • Have one and love it. Super quiet.

This combined with my 6 Noctua and Fractal fans, I can't even hear my computer 1m away.

  • Had this cooler for almost a decade. It works an absolute treat. It is massive though. But it cools extremely well and is very quiet. Paid a couple dollars more than this all that time ago, solid buy!

Can confirm that these are very quiet and extremely cool. I overclock 6700k to 4.8 with ease.

Make sure you check ram height and case dimensions to fit this sucker.

    • Apparently the latest model supports moving the front fan up so it will accommodate most RAM sizes.

      • Yeah moving it up does allow maybe 5mm extra, but I still had to remove the heatsinks from my corsair rgb sticks because they wouldn't fit. The LPX style ram would be fine though.

      • Correct, but then many cases don't have the additional width to accommodate the size of the cooler with the fan moved up.

It's all easy to research though.

I personally just went with low profile lpx ram to avoid the hassles, but paid extra for that conversation convenience.

Also note that I don't think these support AM4. there's a special AM4 edition one

    • +1

You are right, there is an AM4 edition at the same price.

    • I am told you can by the intel version, then apply for them to send you the AM4 brackets for free, provided if you can provide picture of your board and proof owndership of the cooler

      • I think they ship it all the way from Austria or wherever. When I applied for my AM4 mounting kit, it took nearly a month to get to me. No tracking number either.

Damn, jsut bought the AM4 version on the bay/computer alliance sale. This is a great price for a great cooler.

My old 6 year old version is still going strong. Silent, super efficient.

    • Ah don't worry, I bought that deal too hehe. Still was worth it over full price, so cool and quiet now :)

  • $81.78 delivered to Perth

  • I wish they moved away from these hideous colours.
