  • God damn that's cheap.

    • The code is a one-time $30 off, so it's a little deceptive for a modern PC build. Good price if you're upgrading your system though!

      • You can register another account to buy another pair..

Surely they'd flag the identical address and credit card details…

          • @jasswolf: use Paypal for one and CC for another? and ship to a mates or work address?

            • @Rod M: Doubt they'd block 1 other name for the same address. But you never know how well run businesses are … Amazon doesn't seem to mind new accounts using codes.

        • I registered another account with different name(my Uncle) and email (my other email address) and used same Paypal. Deal confirmed

Hello PC Buffs, could you please advice if I can mix these Geil RAMS with my current RAM/Build?

    My Current RAM's are 2x4GB HyperX Fury DDR4 2400 (15-15-15-35), I am using a Z370 Motherboard and i3-8100 CPU.

I understand sometime its not a good idea to mix in two different types of RAMs, And these Geil RAMS are 16-16-16-36 (plus they have RGB).
But I wonder if I can use the XMP profile to mix in these two types?

    Thanks

I'm on the same boat, have 2x4 GB HyperX Fury DDR 2133 Mhz RAM

It's not ideal, but it'll usually work fine and it'll just auto run at the slowest speeds (In this case the 16-16-16-36) They're both 2400mhz so the actual speed difference is negligible.

That said, it'll usually depend on your mobo/cpu if it likes mixed RAM or not.

N.B. I take no responsibility if you buy this and it doesn't work.

at that speed 2400 CL15 you'll have no problems, both kits use 1.2v so tons of room to increase for stability, you may have to manually adjust the timings which you can on a Z370 board. for overclocking one kit typically does better than the other, then you can only run as fast as the worst kit

i used to own the hyperX kit and they overclocked to 3000 CL15 @ ~1.35v

I don't think you'll be able to use the XMP, as XMP is usually disabled when you run different sticks. You can manually set the timings & voltage though if your motherboard supports it.

  • I purchased two kits, as I didn't want to risk getting caught with two fake accounts, what an absolute steal!

    • There's really almost no chance of that if you aren't wholesale ripping them off. One or three accounts will probably be fine and if they aren't all that will happen is automated blocking kicks in so you can't use the coupon code.

  • Would this work with a basic 2010 Asus laptop?

    • No, this is for desktops.

    And they are gone.

  • Crap, how did I miss that. That was a crazy good price for 8gb of ddr4

    • I thought the same but there are plenty of other sets on sale. I got a Ballistic 8GB 2666mhz for $ 67.50 with the above code. Single stick though.
