EK make excellent products and I built a recent water cooled PC using their waterblock, fittings, radiator and fans. It cools a Gigabyte NVIDIA 1080 Ti running at 4K and the low temperatures achieved have been very impressive. Now considering making a similar system for someone.

My parts had been sourced from local shops, however. How long does it take to get them sent from EK in Slovenia?

  • OP should really mention that shipping is $30!

Can't neg now since I got over excited before I saw shipping but it's only $70¬ ish posted from https://www.mwave.com.au/product/ekwb-eksupremacy-evo-acetal… , and you'll get it faster with easier returns.

  • I suggest people stay away from nickel plated blocks, always go for pure copper.

    Still paranoid after 'nickelgate'

    • can you elaborate on nickelgate?

      • yea, my search only showed some band called nickleback,

        • Yea stay away from them aswell.

      • EK nickel blocks had an issue a while ago with distilled water + silver coil where there would be pretty bad corrosion going on. They've since said they've changed the plating method but I'd still be leery of them. Using premixes should be fine though.

      • Nickel plating over time will corrode, flake off and clog up the loop.

Pure copper blocks will just oxidize, but it has minimal impact on performance.

I ran a supermacy evo copper + silver kill coil for like 3 years without changing water, never had a single problem. The silver coil acts as a biocide and kills off any germs and bacteria that may be brewing in the water.

Eventually got tired of watercooling as a whole and just using Noctua D15 now, which is just as good and quiet.

Just add some pre-mix to stop algae. No need for silver kill coil.

Used air cooling for a long time, but find water is still best in terms of temperature reduction and almost no noise.
Can't beat the performance of the GPU water blocks and CPU water blocks.
