  • I have the Wifi model and am trying to justify if I need the Nano model after my wifi model failed right into the 1 year mark although it got replaced after a couple of emails back and forth. It gives ridiculous temperature reading and just will not work. I did not abuse it and always cook with lids to protect it from the steam air goes into the unit.

There is a couple of serious design flaws.
    1. Steam air with moisture will go into the electric component through the vent
    2. Temperature can only adjust in 0.5c/f interval if not using the app. I found it ridiculous as the temperature accuracy is at 0.1c

I am glad to see there is some major improvement over the physical/touch control in the Nano without the app. The app is good for looking at recipe and cooking instructions and really meh for controlling the unit. I am really amazed that they still haven't fixed the font issue if using in ipad over the years.

    • when you say cook with lids, how do you put at lid on the pot with the unit in the pot?

    • and always cook with lids

Thats probably tour problem, the steam has only one way to get out, via the hole where the machine is. Use ping pong or little plastic balls. Keeps the heat in, but lets the steam escape evenly.

Temperature can only adjust in 0.5c/f interval

So use the app. Although what do you cook that needs 0.1c granularity?

  • It needs a bulldog clip to keep the lid on?!

    • It needs a bulldog clip to hold the bag with the food in from moving around and interfering with the vents.

  • One of the reviews of the 'nano' model talks about high pitched noise and build quality.

I'm trying to decide whether to go with 'nano' or the 'regular' version. Any thoughts? Mostly I just need to cook for myself and only some times I need to cook for more (4 people max).

      May I suggest Nano?

I have 'regular' version that I got $99 via kickstarter, and I also have their old touchscreen version.
Nano has much smaller footprint, and it might good with regular pots.

I bought just this, lets see how it pans out.

  • I bought the bluetooth model a couple of years ago, hasn't skipped a beat.

  • I bought one at the last sale a few months ago. It cooks chicken & pork amazingly. Lamb fillets and skirt steak is also awesome.

But bbq stuff, just doesn't cut it IMHO. I use charcoal and finishing off on the bbq just doesn't add the usual flavour.

All in all it's a great device. We've got frozen marinated & cooked meat, so just defrost and heat or sous vide up. Dinner sorted.

  • Hi OP, just curious though if you have got any stainless steel pans in that website? thanks

    • I was just posting the deal. They don't sell containers. I use Cambro containers.

        Thanks man
