I had the BenQ ew3270u on Friday.

      • <snip nvm>

      • Thanks for the reply

      • Hi, was there a deal or I missed out? :D
*oops I guess you mean last friday sorry.

Rtings have a great write-up on this, including calibration settings to improve the colour accuracy:

Very good monitor at a very good price.

  • Good monitor. Have a smaller 1080p version but they seem to have some similarities. It's a very nice panel, much better than any TN panel. my biggest complaint is using one tiny button to change everything. For some reason they only decided to make dedicated buttons to change profiles and everything else gets done through this one annoying button. Pretty sure that's one thing that's the same with my monitor and this one. Would have liked a dedicated button to power off and another to change sources.

Is this a good monitor with a RTX 2080 GPU? Or should i be looking for only G-Sync?

    • Got the same question but for a GTX1080. I wonder if the high refresh rate will have issues with no G-Sync?

    • +1

You'd be relying on it maintaining a steady 144 fps to prevent tearing.

    • G-sync is a must. As youll need a consistently high fps to avoid tearing on a freesync monitor. I just went from having a freesync one and cant go back tbh.

      • Is it very noticeable? I typically get less than 144fps in a lot of games as I prefer the higher video settings but never notice any screen tearing.

      • Isnt vsync enough?

      • At the BS price hike? You'd be better off just capping the frames.

  • The one thing holding me back from buying it is the amount of desk room it takes up depth-wise.

A desktop monitor arm would help, but that's another $80 or so. Still a bargain.

    • Oh yes that does seem like a problem, what the hell is that? I thought my monitor had the same stand but it doesn't. Why does it look like a poor 80 year old man's back?

    • Can you recommend a good monitor arm for $80?

  • My dream monitor if it wasn't so damn DEEP…

  • Great reviews and awesome, price… I really want this but with the $16 in delivery + another $10 in PayPal surcharge I just can't pull the pin :(

    • You can try the price match in your local store. Most of the store have this service.

    • That's held it back for me too from buying as it pushes it back over the $500 mark

    • can't you do direct deposit?

      • Yeah, but I like using PayPal for peace of mind.
Too late now anyway! Missed out/saved myself $500 haha

        • MeToo :)

Still uhmm aahing since I don't know if curved monitors are good for (pub level) competitive FPS and long use.
With flat monitor I have no trouble picking movements on the corner of my vision but dunno how that'll be on curved screens

oh well still 1 month till xmas, hoping deal gets repeated

  • Have they fixed the dirty screen effect on this model?

  • That was quick.
Down to the last 6 units.

  • just grabbed one cheers!

  • SOLD OUT!

    • Goddamn :(

    • Any gsync on sale?

Umart has it for $599 for anyone that missed out. https://www.umart.com.au/Samsung-LC27HG70QQEXXY-2K-27in-HDR-…

    • haha normal price jacking $759 - i rather support Umart for only $20 more

  • Tech questions for gamers:

Is there any game or driver technology to render accurate perspective on a curved monitor?

I see that this monitor has a curvature of 1800R and is unlikely to be used at its focal point. Are there tighter radius monitors which are designed to be used at the focal point?

  • Rep, can you give us a deal on the 24" 1080p model? Thanks!

  • Wow. Great price. Hope to see more today or during Boxing Day sales. Want 27" flat screen though.

  • Great price. I bought it from PCG for $501 (including shipping) a few days ago

This is not the best freesync gaming monitor in this budget but if you include multimedia like watching movies/TV/youtube etc then this is the best one

    • What do you suggest is the best gaming monitor in this budget?
      Looking for 1440p and 144+hz, ~27"

      • They were IPS models but I don't remember the model numbers. I would suggest checking out /r/monitors

  • Snagged one just in time.

Rep, any idea when these would start to ship? Cheers.

      Thank you for your order.

      • Hey Rep. Any idea why this still hasn't shipped yet?.

      • Still haven't received my item. I've PM'd you about this. Can you please follow up?.

        • Replied

  • Wondering why most of 27" 1440p, 144 Hz monitors are curved…

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/413190#comment-6646326 - For those with Samsung devices and want a samsung monitor

    • The 27 is currently $600 at Umart
