  Depends on your game and settings requirements. You're not going to be hitting 144fps on 1440p on new games with high quality settings. On older games maybe but definitely not newer triple A titles. But you can game with this decently at 1440p though, just won't utilise the 144hz monitor…

  I have a GTX 1070 and I sit around 60-80 frames at high/medium 1440p in demanding AAA games, so I'm gonna say that you probably won't hit that mark unless indie titles and emulating old games at higher resolution are what you're into.

    1070 is priced same as a Vega56 with similar performance.
    If you're looking for a mid tier budget card at this price, it'll compare and outpace a 1060

    go for same price range as your monitor. 1k$ monitor with 300$ gpu isnt really ideal pair.
