  • Finally! Hopefully they keep their pricing competitive like their domestic coverage but just having this service is a bonus. Interested to see if they offer something like a $5 per day to access your existing data or just the separate data packs exclusive for international use. Provided you live in a metropolitan area KM really are the best value mobile company out there.

Totally agree. Moved to Kogan Mobile 15 months ago and couldn’t be happier.
My recent visit to China though, meant I had to revert to a Telstra bolt-on data pack.
I note Vodafone is advertising international roaming to 80+ countries for $5/day, so hopefully Kogan is able to source this price. Vodafone being Kogans provider.

I would not think that Vodafone would allow its competitive advantage in the market ($5 roaming per day) to Kogan or any other company that it provides services for.

        • Agree that it's very unlikely. Vodafone has access to a large network of international mobile networks through their parent Hutchison. Given it's the only provider in AU with such an advantage it's unlikely in the extreme that they would pass that pricing on wholesale to an MVNO of their Australian network.

  • Can’t wait to see pricing!

  • Hope it's very soon! Leaving overseas in 5 days…

  • finally

If only they had roaming for SMS. Such a hassle not being able to receive banking codes while overseas

    • agree

Yeah, my one big gripe with Kogan Mobile. Love their service and the constant data increases (initially 6GB, then 7GB and now a whopping 13GB), especially when I bought the plan during their 2 for 1 promo this year.
No international roaming makes it hard to do things like banking and receiving SMS etc.
Been researching ideas since July this year, but nothing beats the convenience of having access to your regular contact number that everyone has stored.

      • Yeah just came back from overseas a month ago and it was a real pain having to call the banks over Skype just to bypass the code. I think I might switch to Catch Connect on their half price 365 day recharge once my Kogan finishes since they offer international roaming.

Looks like it may be included

      INSANE cost.

Better to get a local sim.

Now I just need to figure out a way to access texts from banks while I'm away…

    • I am ok for $15 for 1G to use over 7 days… definitely not worth it if it is only for 24 hours.

    $15 per day…hmmm. Nah thanks

  • 4 week holiday and $420+ later. Yeah nah. Ok with the $15 but the 24 hours is pethetic. Local sim definitely a better option

    • Obtaining a local sim in China can be problematic

  • Something like simcorner is still better. That 24 hours is just a deal breaker.

Probably move your main number elsewhere and use Kogan for data, if you have a dual sim phone.

I am in Germany and I can't receive sms at the time of this comment.

  • local sims are always better! but awesome now that we can receive sms' without having to purchase this bundle as confirmed by scotty's link above!
