      Also, the key will need to be taken to a locksmith to have this cut and programmed. It's always good to check with your local locksmith prior to purchase on the cost of this.

      Unfortunately there are no alternatives to this remote at the moment by we are expecting to have an aftermarket version of this remote soon. I can’t confirm if this will have a slide cover over the buttons (they usually do). But check back with us in a few weeks as it should be in stock by then :)

    hi, if one of my merlin garage door wireless remote is not working after i have swap the battery, does that means it is no longer working?

      Programming is very easy. We provide instructions. I would recommend to try code in one of the other buttons of your remote as this my work. I’m not sure what model you have but if it is the three button version, faulty buttons are very common. Reply with your motor model number and I will send you instructions to try.

      You motor must be new. Basically the garage companies release new technology for there motors every few years and patent the technology so aftermarket options generally don’t become available for quite a few years after that.

      That motor is usually used in complexes and technically doesnt have remotes. The motor will be fitted with an item called a receiver which is a small box attached to the motor with wires which usually sits on top of stuck to the side. I would need to see a photo of your current remote and a photo of the receiver to advise what you need.

      There is no remote that can do both but you can add a receiver kit to one of the motor to match up with the other to allow you to use one remote. If you can email us through a photo of your B&D motor and we can direct you to a kit for this. These are usually around $50 and come with two remotes.

      This is most likely the M802 remote. Provided your original remote is shown in the main image, it will be suitable. This one is set by 12 small switches inside of the remote.

    Hi Michael,

    I have a 2010 holden cruze manual transmission. I got 2 keys from ebay and got them engraved by a key guy. However they are not programmed to start the car or lock/unlock the doors. What do i have to do to get them working. I have a key at the moment that works but its spring is broken and key does not fold in…it sticks out. the second key is broken and hence i got these two additional spare keys. your help is appreciated.

      Hi,

      I believe we spoke in regards to this on live chat. If not, the transponder (the chip that make the car start) must be programmed by a locksmith. The actual lock/unlock buttons can be done by yourself (heaps of videos on YouTube). The only issue I see is that the frequency shown in that eBay listing is not correct.

      You can remotes yourself, there is generally a button on the back of motor behind a removable panel. Should be an S-Drive model in the garage. You have to make sure to follow the correct coding procedure in the motor manual which can find online because if you do it wrong you can run the risk or erasing all of the remote from the memory.     I have a combo remote for a ATA PTX 4 garage door and a Chinese branded gate.
    Is it possible to get another combo of the above? Or at least seperate out the remotes again as the current combo remote buttons aren't working well anymore. I've bought universal remotes off ebay in the past and they don't register from the combo remote.

      If the combo is an unbranded generic it will be hard to identify what remote it will be but generally there may have been a receiver added to the gate to match up with the PTX4. So I would start with a PTX4 remote and try code this into the gate. If you send some photos of your gate, I can confirm if there has been an add on receiver attached.

      The Merlin+ does not have switches inside and must be programmed to the motor before it will work so people cant just buy a remote and start opening doors without having access to the motor prior. I don't recommend to leave remotes in your car as its very common for someone to break into cars and take them.

      They will pretty much work on all brands. If your model is not on the provided list you simply cycle through all of the codes until it registers on the unit.
