Silver's not my preference either, but at $210 cheaper than black, it's a good price.
What are the main differences?
The main difference is the H7B can record up to 4K60, the Silver can record up to 4K30.
Minor difference is the Silver lacks the front status display. I also believe the Silver lacks livestreaming and has less fancy stabilisation.
Yeah but black are regularly sub $500, current eBay sale had for $471 but only 2 left now.
Why not get hero 2018 instead for $195, update it to hero 5 instead.

@Pobman: Fair enough point but for me it’s still 200-250$ diff, one can still buy a gimbal for stabilisation which can be used for mobile and GoPro as well under $200.
@Seven8Nine: The gimbal for me is an extra thing to worry about. Currently I sit my xiaomi yi on my shoulder strap and record all my hikes. The beauty of the H7B is it has an inbuilt stabilizer. If using a gimbal I have to find a way to attach that to my bag and make sure I have enough batteries to keep the gimbal going for hours as well as the gopro. Just comes down to your use case I guess. Why I really like the new hero7 range is the inbuilt stabilizer.
@Seven8Nine: For sure the 2018 firmware hacked is a great deal, personally I’d only either get that or the 7 black.. would not bother with the white/silver 7’s.
