in-store only as stated, someone's going to have to look or call them up.

    • +1

Yeah, can't buy online either. I can't see me walking in store and showing their site and getting this for 1 cent.

  • In stock in the Brisbane city store if anyone wants to dash down this morning….

  • +1

looks like in stock in Sydney city, Parramatta and Chatswood according to the site for NSW

    • I wouldn't trust their stock indicators. Even their staff told me not to.

  • +3

In stock at Chadstone VIC. Surely it won't be $0.01 in store.

  • I think it's a bait to attract more customer traffic to MYER.

  • +11

buy three and pay nothing? anyone have a go and tell us if you got it?

    • -2

Since when $0.03 gets rounded up to $0.05? Or since when Australia stopped using 5 cent pieces?

      • +2

        3 x 1c = 3c, less 30% = 2.1c round down to 0c.

        • -3

          I didn't know about the 30% discount but why not buy 4 instead? 4 x 1c = 4c, less 30% = 2.8c round down to 0c.

          • +3

            @DarkOz: 2.8 rounds to 5 ??

            • -1

@Savas: I believe it's rounded down in this case but I could be wrong. Let's call for MathNerd!

              • +1

@DarkOz: Rounds up…Open excel and change 2.8 to zero decimals.

                • @Munki: We are talking about a cash transaction here. I know 2.5 - 2.99 gets round up to 3 in Excel. But with cash 3 cents gets rounds up to 5 with anything less gets rounded down to 0.

                  • @DarkOz: No, 2c gets rounded down because 2.0 < 2.5. 3c rounds up because, you guessed it, 3.0 > 2.5.

But 2.5 itself would get rounded to 3 (as a whole number) and so rounds to 5c in cash.

              • @DarkOz: Rounds up only with cash purchase.
For a transaction to actually occur there has to be a amount exchanged… in the case of cash it's 5c. With Eftpos it would be the exact amount to the nearest whole cent (so 2.8c would round to 3c).

Think of of buying fuel with cash.
If you pump $20.01 or $20.02 they'll charge you $20.
If you pump $20.03 or $20.04 you'll be charged $20.05.

But you won't be able to walk in and buy 3 or 4 gravy boats thinking you'll get them for free.
It doesn't work like that. Basic rules of any transaction applies… there has to be offer and acceptance.
                With cash, it's 5c.
With Eftpos, it's to the nearest whole cent.

    • Gravy mcgravyface is a fine ship indeed

  • +1

I believe they won't be selling this for $0.01 in store. The staff would've bought them all

  • Great find OP.

  • This is literally free. I am a cash guy.

  • Hahaha, this is a treasure hunt for qld buyers?

    • What makes you think we won't be driving up to QLD from NSW for this bargain?

      • Would still technically make you a qld buyer haha

  • Another reason why Myer is about to go out of business

  • +1

    Melbourne CBD is showing stock

    • No stock, just checked, or at least didn't put it out.

  • +6

OzBargain Challenge: Photographic proof you found and bought one for $0.01.

    • With Eftpos you can!

With cash it'll be 5c (the minimum currency in a cash transaction).

This is like clickbait to get you in store. There's no way they'll give it to you for free over the counter.

    • -2

It's not being advertised for free.

  • It's a gift with sale. Cannot buy outright.

  • +4

No dice… just went to Sydney CBD store and there's no stock

  • +2

    Sold out IN Sydney city

  • +1

Anyone see if Officeworks can beat the price by 5%?

  • +11

Just visited Melbourne CBD store. They only had one display version, and I asked the sales guy to scan it to see what it came up as.
Sure enough, it scanned at 0.01 cent. That was the good news.
He wouldn’t let me take it because he said these gravy boats are bonus extras when you buy a baking dish, where you pay 1c for the gravy boat. I showed him the website with the price, but he was adamant that it’s the “bonus with a purchase“ deal. I wished him a Merry Christmas and left. I hope others have better luck at other stores.
Looks like I missed the boat 😕

    • +2

      Yeah, the deal is:
Purchase a cast iron roaster in deep teal, cerise, satin black or marselle blue and receive salt and pepper mills in black and a gravy boat in cerise. Offer available until 11:59pm AEDT Sunday, 16th December, 2018.

    • you should have taken it and run to the register

      • +3

The ONE time u wldve appreciated a self checkout section

    • +1

+1 for showing the true ozbargainer spirit!

  • -1

Myer online stock level is non existence.
Don't bother with this deal, Myer will cancels all order.

  • They have them in Brisbane city but they wouldn’t honour it. Apparently it was supposed to be a free gift with a Le Creuset pot purchase. Did scan at $0.01 but they wouldn’t do it

    • What a load of bull, If it's a gift item then they should list it as a gift item

  • This product isn't available on its own and requires the purchase of another item to get it for 1c. Not a deal, reported.

    Good conversation starter though ;).

    • +1

      Why are you so mad.
      Why tho.
Which gravy hurt you as a child?, Tell me WHAT GRAVY DID IT.

      • The gravy of entitlement - applies to most of us OzB's, really.

        • -2

Gravy of white privilege and manspreading

  • Ya not a deal. Requires a major purchase ! But sad that Myer advertises this on their website though!

  • Myer gave us so much fun at least:-)
