EB Games Are Amazing

I ordered the Rainbox Six PC for click and collect, they gave me Rainbow Six XB1 and when I checked the order to see if I made a mistake I see it says Playstation 4.

The email reciepts just say Rainbox Six as though you're meant to guess which platform.

So you're telling us you went to the store collected a XB1 version without looking at it?

All of them are $19…couldn't they just swap it for you?

    • Pretty much ;)

Not to excuse EB Games, but yeah - the game cases are different colours.

    • They had my order in a bag taped closed with the receipt. The receipt from the store should have the version you ordered, my online receipt also didn't state platform.

  • I love(d) Rainbow Six games!

Think it was vegas 2. My first experience with the r6 games.

Dam was that game enjoyable to run through with my brother.

It's because we voted for the major political parties isn't it

our wise, highly-edumacated political adviser can't even buy a videogame correctly :)
much can be said about the people agreeing with his political view rofl

  • <3 EB games, haven't had issue with them yet :)

  • How does EB games even operate. Such a horrible brand with no respect for any of its customers. I wonder if any of the top brass at EB games even cares?

  • I had to replace a week old XB Elite controller. Went to the shop to have it replaced and they offered me one that was just traded in and had the back rubber grips falling off it and buttons/crevices full of finger grease. I just looked at the girl and said “seriously?”.

    • Daam man what happened after?

      • +1

She just said “that’s all I can offer.” I just said no. I’m not accepting a used up, 2nd hand, piss poor, worn out controller to replace my week old $200 controller.

I then just asked her, “you’re a gamer, right? If this was your week old elite controller and I offered to swap that heap of crap for it, would you accept it?”

        “Oh, I guess not.”

She ordered a band new one and 2 days later, swapped it over.

I have since gone on to swap it 6 times for various faults. Each time they have given me brand new controllers. I’m not hard on them, they are just really really shit quality controllers considering how much they cost.

        Rubber peeled off back
        Rubber peeled off sides
        USB port failed
        Loose thumb stick, no clicking
        Right bumper button failed
Stick drift on right thumb stick.

After that, I gave up and I keep repairing it myself now. Left thumb stick rattled, side rubber lifted off both sides, back rubber lifted up, 2x bumper button failure. I actually keep spare parts here for it now.

My old original 5yo controllers are still working. I give these to kids to use and they treat them like crap and they keep on working. They have at least 4000 hours on them and just won’t die. The Elite controller gets about 30 to 60 hours of play time and needs running repairs.

        • Oh wow that's insane bro. If they have the ability to give you a new one why on Earth would they offer an old one? At least they ended up giving you a new one!

Oh dude I fully agree, the quality on Elites is the joke of the century, I pre-ordered 2 elites, one for me and one for my sister and my sister's is fine, even till this day, however mine had the same issues you described, loose left Analog, the rubber peeling off, all within a few months, it's ridiculous! And yeah not hard on them or anything!

I also had launch regular One controllers and the wear on them is crazy, I don't feel like I've been too hard to them either.

My 360 controllers have been through hell and are still in decent shape, One controllers on the other hand though in general have a huge reduction in quality, I don't know what MS is doing.

I ended up returning my Elite and getting one form the MS store, thankfully it's been fine. It seems like a hit or a miss with them, you hear of tons of people having issues and you hear of many who don't have them.

I've started playing on a One S controller recently, it does feel like it's of higher quality than the originals, however time will tell!

        • yeah I've exchanged my elite three times. It's a terrible controller considering the price.

  • You can preorder games/consoles at EB and they'll hold on to the money for as long as you need to buy it.

So I do think EB games are amazing - for laundering money.

I ordered a game a couple days ago, the next day they said they couldn't find the game I ordered and told me to cancel the order.

  • scored a Starcraft 2 Battle Chest for under $6 few months back so yeah they are amazing =)

    • What is not included in the Starcraft 2 Battle Chest or does it have all the expansions and dlc etc and just need to buy the extra commanders and co-op stuff later and announcers?

I got lazy and just paid full price via the blizzard site mainly because I have a strong allegiance to blizzard for their older days and didn't want to bargain them honestly.. but curious to know what I could be missing or gained from going the bargain bin battle chest route.

  • They gave me free Wii wheels for Mario kart Wii. So yeah they are amazing but their prices aren’t :)

  • Some of their stores can be downright incompetent…

Only had a bad run in with them once. Was when I pre-ordered the division. They just gave me (well, my Mum, as she was picking it up for me…) the standard version rather then the one with the pre-order bonuses.

The bonuses were minimal enough that I couldn't be bothered going back.

As for preorder…not intending on doing it again for anything that I'm not 100% buying anyway (there's a whole 1 game that fits that category) and wanting some nique bonuses for.

Mind that, with the big sales they've had fairly recently they've been good for in store buys where I live (pretty much the single video game retailer in my area). By and large I've had good experiences with them.
