  • Apparently has no multitouch according to Cnet..

May want to consider paying $49 bucks extra for a Garmin A50 (but is locked to Optus)

Specs are pretty much the same except that the A50 has multitouch, bigger screen, GPS software and accessories, and better camera options.

    • WIth the new update it has dualtouch. ie Andriod 2.1

      • No don't think so. Only X10 has multi-touch with recent firmware upgrade. X8 is not getting multi-touch.

Also, both the X8 and X10 will not be updated past Android 2.1. The only updates they will get from now on (if any) are SE firmware updates—but not the Android OS itself.

        • Correct but head voer to XDA 2.3 will be on it soon enough.

        • Yeah, if you want to spend hours setting up your phone and all the problems and issues that come with those releases. Plus you lose your phone warranty. Not worth it for most people.

Apparently X10 will get Android 2.3 update (http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/25/xperia-x10-to-get-android…).

However X8 will have to stuck with 2.1

        • Wow, thanks for that. SE themselves stated only a few weeks ago that there won't be any updates past 2.1. Good to see they changed their minds.

  • I'm more tempted by the LG Optimus for $134.10 and then trhowing a Gingerbread ROM on it…

    • fat chance that can run anything decent on its own, dont even go near that first optimus…

    • Stay clear imho. Mine 'lags' all the time and i dont know what to do about it :(

    • Slow junk. :( Even slower than my x10 mini.

with a resistive screen and laggy OS, it is one of the worst phones that you can buy right now. might as well go for those ancient nokia phones, at least you can text faster than the optimus as well as operate the phone much better.

and plus, snake II beats any game that optimus can even manage to load.

  • Don't even go near the Optimus. Pretty bad phone imo. The optimus one is another story.

i'd rather touch a nokia than that optimus…………..

  • Good price, is this locked to optus?

  • Try typing on that little screen. Go the extra and buy a x10 mini pro with the qwerty kb

DON'T buy an x10 mini pro. The processor is unbearably slow, so slow that I went back to a $29 "dumb phone" to escape it.

      • I can agree with that. I've had an x10 mini pro for a couple of months now and once you've opened about 2 apps on it, the whole phone starts to lag like crazy. The battery doesn't last more than a day on moderate usage either.

  • The optimus one is brilliant compared to the gt540 optimus. Capacitive screen vs resistive. Also android 2.2 out of the box is a good thing to have
