"With latest addition of Amazon Alexa, now you can control your AVR-X2500H with your voice"
Assuming you still need an Echo to control it (no built in microphone/assistant).

Any news when it will be compatible with Google Assistant?

I want to buy my first home speaker system, but would prefer one with built in Google Assistant. Doesn't look to really exist yet :'( Closest is the JBL Link Sound Bar which is delayed and not surround sound…

It probably will not be. They go exclusive, so it would be unlikely to ever work with Google. Google is harder to implement as well.

You could use Google Assistant now but it would require an install of Home Assistant(most install to a RaspberryPi). Though the model is not specifically listed it may still work. You would need to do some research.

Looks like it fully does, or will work.

Do a search on Google for "home assistant Denon AVR-X2500H"

      Note
I have an 8 year old Yamaha that is not specifically supported, but because it uses standard DLNA Google Assistant via Home Assistant gives me the ability to power on/off, change inputs and volume - standard controls. For media playback from the receiver it is very limited and I can not select radio stations etc.

No wonder soundbars are popular, that's just ridiculous

amazon germany had killer deals on denon, even if they added gst now they would still be good deals.

      • Does anyone know how to get around the blocking of shipping to Australia other than using shipping forwarders?

  • Tempting.

I'm holding out for a 9.2ch around this price with these features but think I'll be waiting a while. I want 5.1.4 surround!

  • I got the 2400H earlier this year. Great AVR
