HELP: Where to Watch The Fireworks This New Years?

Hi OZB Community,

Its that time of the year with new years eve just around the corner. Every year Sydney CBD gets packed with hundreds of thousands of people which causes huge delays getting home at night. I have done this many times but I am hoping for something more lowkey this year.

Has anyone had any good experiences of south or north of Sydney (within NSW) where the fireworks are good and a good place to spend the new year break? I was hoping for a location near the beach.

Any suggestions would be fantastic.

Cheers

How much did you actually appreciate that suggestion though

      • Stay at a hotel somewhere else and watch it on TV.

Head to Tweed Heads then cross the border to watch fireworks again an hour later at Coolangatta.

    • That is what i do most new years, Its a great spot
You get Tweed NSW and Coolangatta QLD and Also so Surfers Paradise fireworks also on the beach

    • This actually looks like an awesome night. 3 fireworks in one night 9pm NSW Time, 9pm queesland time and then 12pm Queensland time. Awesome!

      • and then 12pm Queensland time

Don't think midday fireworks would be as impressive, though.

Find cheap flight around fireworks time, and watch it from sky …

Or Scooooba dive.. for under water experience…

Just kidding, no idea where to suggest…

  • 9 pm fireworks at The Entrance on the foreshore/beach…

go and set up a picnic spot on nth head, you'll get a spectacular view all the way down the harbour, and get to watch the fireworks as a whole, instead of turning your head every 5 seconds.

  • The Greens in North Sydney has a really good and secluded view to the bridge. Try that!
