They need to stop plugging Amy Shark on Triple J. She makes pop music. Nothing against her for that but for the love of God JJJ is not meant to be a pop music station. It's infuriating.

If Triple J are the first to play an artist, and that artist becomes popular, Triple J should stop playing them?
That elitist attitude is infuriating. The same could be said for other acts like The Rubens.Huh? No. They should never have played her.
But if you pay attention, what you just said happens all the time by JJJ's own choosing, amy shark being an extremely rare exception that they have continued to play
The Night Thinker EP was exactly what you'd expect to hear on Triple J. The album is much more like standard pop.
Once Triple J starts playing an artist they'll keep playing them even if they release something very commercial, like Kings of Leon with Sex on Fire, George Maple with Hero and recently Vera Blue with All the Pretty Girls.
Which is fine by me.
PS: nothing elitist about wanting an alternative radio station to play alternative music. That's why we have more than one station.. Choice! You listen to whatever station you want. But don't try to make all stations the same, that's not clever.
What is alternative music?
