wish that price is for 512GB NOTE 9

  • Mate 20 Pro getting cheaper, love to see it starting at $1300

  • "with full Tax Invoice for TRS/GST purposes"

What would be the amount printed on the Tax Invoice ($1,500 incl $136.36 GST??? or some other amount??)

    • From past experiences, yes (the pre-discount price).

  • If Officeworks still price beats Kogan, wouldn't it still be cheaper to get the Note 9 from Officeworks (Kogan $1099 + delivery, so Officeworks $1044.50 + delivery)?

    • +2

They do not price match Kogan's products that are grey-imports or direct imports. I've tried going in store and calling their 1300

      • +1

If I remember there was a post few weeks ago regarding price matching for grey import as well. Check their price guarantee page.
        Model needs to match

        • +1

Yes I did. So, I was told by a OW employee that their head office have been circulating emails to stores stating they must reject companies such as Becextech, DWI, anything that has a slight 'grey import' smell etc at all cost. I do see that some OZB members still able to fall along the cracks of the system and do a price-beat but they are few and far between. But if you manage to get it, my hats off to you! :)

          • @sujiferro: Thank you all for the help! This sucks, feels like a backtrack of their previous deal of price matching imports

            • +1

@ericshurn: I feel ya… I felt I missed out on a good bargain albeit it being a loophole, which obviously OW did not anticipate at the beginning.

        • I had Officeworks price match Toby deals Black Friday Note 9 sale price a fortnight ago. Just had to confirm the model number was the same, and that it was in stock. The salesperson was fine that it was a grey import. Got it for $931. Your salesperson experience may vary, but just try more stores till you get it

Has anyone been caught on their way back bring their phone back to Australia?

    • You're allowed to bring personal electronics with you.

      • Think he means bringing back a phone he previously claimed TRS on.

    • If the value of the item is greater than the per adult concession of $900, then you may have to pay GST
      See: https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/GST/In-detail/Your-industry/…

    • I have claimed many phones, laptops, jewellery, etc. Maybe I have been lucky, but I have never been 'caught'. Frankly, I am not sure whether bringing a used item back should count. Last time I did a claim, I tried to do it 'properly' and used the TRS app. It generated a QR code that I would have to show to personnel. When I rocked up, the TRS counter wasn't even manned, and I had to fill out a form and drop it in a letterbox. Nobody even got to look at the item, and I could have claimed a refrigerator (or a car) as nobody checked if I carried it on me.

  • Does anyone know if the Samsung and Huawei Models quoted here are Dual SIM?

    • The Mate 20 Pro is Dual sim but you can buy it in single sim mode.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro LYA-L29 model is the Dual Sim model

Huawei Mate 20 Pro LYA-L09 model is the Single Sim model

Both models sold in Australia but at JB Hifi and Optus and Vodaphone they are selling the dual sim and Mobiciti and Allphones are selling both models.

Anyone getting the Huawei Mate 20 is obliged to get this phone case

  • I am glad I got my retail Note 9 from OW via PBG Becextech.

  • +5

I love my Mate 20 Pro. The battery life is unbelievable and the camera is amazing. So much better than the Samsung S9 and S9+ that I had.

    • I really do think that samsung phones would be world class if they only had bigger batteries. 3000mAh is too small for a bright 1440p display and flagship specs.

Who spends that much on a telephone?

    • +4

no one, but on a mobile phone, a lot of people.

  • +1

Allphones doing a better deal for the Mate 20 Pro at the moment with the 20% code Promise, its end ups being $1279.20

didnt mentioned $100 gift card, so it is not included.

      • Yes its only on mobileciti you spend like after the 10% discount cost $1,440.72 plus the postage with Mobiciti is $12.80, after the $100 off with the visa card, end ups being. $1353.52 so you still saving $74.32 with Allphones.

No Gift card with Allphones :( I wish there was tho.

  • Why the hell is the Twilight colour for the Mate 20 Pro not available in Australia… ☹️

    • Australia only received two models, the Black and Midnight Blue, it suck big time, other Countries like India gets the Twilight, I hope it comes out here eventually, we are stuck with the two colours, you can pickup a Global model on ebay but that only going to a 1 year warranty.

      • Pretty sure we got green as well. Saw one at an Optus shop unless i’m colourblind.

        • There is a green version but I have not seen one selling saying is an Australia stock. Only Midnight Blue and Black say Australia Stock item.

    • Hi khell

Thanks for showing interest on Mate 20 Pro Twilight, we may have Au version in next year, not 100% confirm yet.

  • Doesn't beat the note 9 I got for 800 bucks on eBay.

    • How many did you get?

    • +1

Doesn't beat the note 9 I got for free from my dad.

  • Mate 20 pro has green screen issue and won’t touch it.

    • +1

I reckon most of the affected ones should be out of circulation by now.

  • Can a rep please confirm what will be the process if I buy the mate 20 pro and it happens to have the green screen problem? Will we be issued a refund or replacement straight away or be obliged to send it back for repairs?

    • Hi jimbob33

      we offer 30days replacement/refund.

  • Tempting. Still don't really know if I should move away from Pixel to Note 9.

  • +2

When can we expect mate 20 pro to be under 1k?

    • Waiting for that 2and wouldnt pay more than 1 K for chinese phone. I believe it will get under 1K in1 month or 2.

  • +1

Mate 20 pro had a green tint issue, not sure if it's still happening
    https://ausdroid.net/2018/11/12/huawei-mate-20-pro-users-rep…

  • Does anyone know where I can get the pink version of the P20 Pro in Australia? Been waiting for so long :( thanks

    • Hi Twk123

You can't get P20 pro Pink in Au version.

  • I remember the days when Apple was the only one that sold expensive phones!

  • The Mate 20 Pro is a good phone, except for that rather ridiculous decision to use a memory card that nobody seems to make…
