    Free coffee does not add up on app based loyalty card, it didn't last couple times. I rang Maccas & they confirmed same.

        It worked for me the first 3 times too, but the 4th time it didnt … i suspected becauase they fixed/changed/updated that so it no longer works. We'll see tomorrow!

      Yeah it depends on the person serving back in the day with the physical card and using entertainment book vouchers too. Don't believe they like it on the loyalty app using those too.

      No, coffees only, although there has been offers in the past that have been a McCafé Beverage instead which can be redeemed for any drink served in their McCafé range.

          I did use like a hack of sorts in previous free coffee deals (maccaz trying to get you to try their new coffee blend). I found it worked on iced coffees also. So I ordered an iced mocca, then said to make the coffee very weak, or even not to add it. Basically got like a choc milkshake kind of thing, by ordering a mocca then telling them to add no or very littel coffee lol.
          I guess could order a hot mocca, then either put decaf, or weak ammount of coffee , or just after ordering, go up and tell barista you decided you would like no coffee in the mocca, so just like a hot chocolate. Most of the workers there are fine with it and not super strict if you customize an order. They did giggle when I ordered iced mocca without coffee, but still they made my chocolate drink for me:)

          Lol this isn't even a problem with my locals - I have not had a good coffee from Macca's yet. I've even had a good coffee from HJ, which I openly criticised. Coles Express and 7/11 are fine as well.
          It's just Macca's coffee!

                To you perhaps, but I for one can certainly tell the difference.

                I truly believe peoples taste buds change when pricing is considered, but I guess the same can be said for me and the possible placebo affect I receive when drinking a ~$4 coffee over a $1 one.

                  Admittedly, Coles Express/7-11/HJ coffees are not that great but it's cheap and convenient.
                  Macca's isn't good. I have given it so many chances during Macca's monopoly. It was bad when it was free lol

    Good that it's free but honestly, I'd be more inclined to pay for McCafe Beverages if they could prepare them properly.
    I'm not sure if the "Barista" is just always off sick or whether they just don't give a toss.

    I'm not a coffee snob but when I ask for a latte I don't expect half a cup of froth.

    I wouldn't do it because it's wrong. Just letting McDonald's know that there is a potential flaw

    The solution of creating a new account is not really a solution and companies should stop this practice. The idea of a loyalty program is to reward loyalty. Certainly not a great deal of loyalty when you give new users who are not yet loyal a better offer than what existing customers get. Same goes with lots of other industries overall. This isn't the first… Probably not the last but it's time to stop!

      I setup new account. Got no voucher. logged off. waited 5 mins, logged back in, now have voucher.
      I have the awesome Vodafone smart E8 phone(sigh…), which for some reason cuts off the bottom half of the code, same when it was free cheeseburger day. So I go to counter and claim offer without redeeming voucher, and do same again at another store.
