  • got one already when there was 10% cashrewards at about $516.

That’s the v10 Motorhead which isn’t sold in Aus, it actually has been listed here over the past couple weeks at a lower price.

  • You should add Motorhead to the title OP, makes it easier to distinguish between the other 2 models sold here

      Motörhead Edition \m/

Sucks up 'dust' and liquid and makes a lotta noise!

      RIP Lemmy!

International model. You are on your own.

    • Amazon customer service is pretty good in my past experience.

  • can we buy the connections accessories of the rest of the accesories to this V10? such as the long pipe and the vacuum head thingy ?

sorry i am new to dyson, and missus keep asking one :S

    • From my understanding on the V8, yes.

However you'd have a hard time getting the base model with all the accessories separately for less than the top model.

Having said that, if you're only after one or two of the accessories, probably a more economical method.

  • it was $539 last week! :p
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/423233

  • Bought it from the past deal. The shipping is super fast by DHL. They delivered me V10 on Sunday night! Well done.

    • What plug is this? can the plug be changed to aussie model? or does dyson use a standard dock charging station?

      • The one I got had USA pins but was multi voltage (110-240v) and works here with a adapter.

  • Just looking at the comparison between the different V10 model and this has a smaller bin size (.54 compared to .77 litres for the Absolute).

The other key difference is the cleaner head, which is direct drive on this one, vs Torque drive on the other models - not sure what difference this makes in terms of performance - can anyone shed some light?

    • You definitely want a bigger bin. This thing would fill up super fast unless you're vacuuming twice a day.

      • +1. Bigger bin is deal breaker.

      • +2

Unfortunately I gotta disagree, I hate how big and bulky the bin is on the v10s here. They're meant to be portable vacuums. When you compare them to the previous gens they're no where as bulky as they are now

        • I agree, use my older one more than the V10 due to the fact that it's so light

        • Fair enough.

I had a DC59 and when I used it to do my living room, I had to empty it a few times. I only do it weekly so there will be more dust for me than someone who does it daily.

Then I realised, doing it at home, a corded barrel vac does the job better and without compromise so I returned the DC59.

It was handy for the car, but a full charge wasn't even enough to finish cleaning my car.

100% agree hear! the big bin is a complete waste! I can't imagine in my life actually getting to a point where it's filled up! would just mean it's even more heavier than it already is, it's quite awkward to begin with! it shouldn't be a problem to empty very regularly as the easy dump bin system makes it so easy! I reckon that's where the Engineers lost it on this one, they forgot that they made the thing easy to empty! that's one of the pros and always has been with Dyson, why they thought they needed to make some extra large big ass bin… how much lazier can people be? it really makes no sense….

Side note, Who evers got his number shoot it over, I'm ready to start work on the design of the V12 and 14. Put the power of the v10 in the V8 size and bobs your uncle!

          • @KobiOshi: Or power of the V8 in something lighter than the V6 - Roidmi F8.

  • Don't worry about the torque drive head as we don't get it in Australia anyways, the only real difference between this and the animal is the smaller bin.

The absolute and the animal in the US get the more powerful and deeper cleaning torque drive head, so maybe if you want a better option than what's in Oz, grab the us equiv model still at a discount.

    • I have actually email Dyson asking about the difference between the torque drive and the direct drive heads and have been told they are the same thing with different labeling.

      • +2

Lying haha.. the torque drive is better on deeper pile carpets like frieze piles. Its also more powerful. They just won't say that were getting a more basic head in Australia. It's the same head used on the V8. "Torque Drive brushroll – this advanced cleaning head is only featured on the Dyson V10 Absolute and Animal versions. It’s Dyson’s most advanced multi-surface floor cleaner. Uses a rotating bristle brushroll for agitation. Provides 25% better cleaning vs. the V8, according to Dyson"

  • Is this a good buy?

    • +1

When you compare to AUS prices: yes.
Is a dyson vaccuum worth your $545? well that's up to you really

      • It's cheaper than their hairdryer's RRP, so yes, it is worth it based on Dyson pricing.

  • Gotta wait for the next V10 animal for $585. I will skip this one.

  • Can anybody lead me in the right direct for a replacement extension wand for the v6 slim without going direct to dyson?

  • People are complaining about the size of the dust holder and battery copacity, but for small household , the current v10 Motörhead is good enough for small household and it indeed powerful. Only I regret that I didn’t buy the animal version when the special price at $575 to access more accessories

  • I bought this on the past deal and it there was a bit of a delay at customs but still it arrived quick.

As stated above it has a smaller bin than the other V10 models, as far as I can remember it is the same sized bin as the V8's

The only differences between this and the animal version in Australia are:

It has a slightly smaller bin, less space but smaller and lighter
It doesn't have the soft dusting head
It doesn't have the mini dd head
It has an American plug which works on 240v and can be used through a cheap adaptor or someone mentioned bending the prongs to fit the Aussie socket, you can also get a replacement official charger from Dyson for $30 or $35 delivered.

All the other items are the same as the Animal version.

I actually got the Animal deal as well, for the extra $40 at the time it was worth it for the extra items in the kit and the torque drive head over the direct drive head, I would have actually prefered the smaller bin, but didn't want to open up the factory seals and swap them over. I currently have my Motorhead up for sale.
