I Am Not Receiving Emails Anymore

Hey All,

I used to get quite a lot of emails along with my subscriptions but suddenly all emails have stopped. I have not changed any of my settings.

Is anyone else too facing the same issue?

Cheers

what is your email address ?

i can send you Christmas & New Year greetings.

  • Please read our announcement if you have missing notifications.

Assuming your settings are correct, you should be getting notifications but if not your email client could be sending ozbargain emails to the spam folder.

  • Checked your spam/junk folder lately?

I'm getting plenty of spam emails, I'll be happy to pass them on to you if you like.

    • i just notice this is a site discussion and OP is inferring to Ozb forum threads subscriptions notifications.

    • Yes, I have done that. There are no emails even in spam folder :(

Let me try to change my email address

  • Who is your ISP?

TPG, but how does that matter?

      • +1

Doesn't really matter but thank you for letting us know.

        • Hey vik, are you using Windows, Mac, Android or iOS ?

          • @Kangal: Mac and iOS, but I am not sure if that matters either :)

        • Well actually it does matter. We use Bigpond and noted that we were not receiving our business emails. Checked our mail filter programs etc and nothing. Digged deeper and I found out that Bigpond had blacklisted the IP address of our web page host and email forwarding address - GoDaddy.

Meaning that when an incoming email was received it was automatically trashed, before it even got to us

Emails addressed to our actual email account, viz. [email protected] were getting through.

So you see the name of OP ISP is relevant.

    • I thought the same.

  • When did it stop? Friday May 11 2018 7am?

Does your ISP have a limit for the number of emails it will hold before freezing your email account? Your inbox could be full. Occasionally you need to go into your online mailbox at your ISP and delete some old mails. It will usually depend on your email settings. I leave emails on the server until I specifically delete them, so if I have a system crash or I retrieve the same email on multiple devices etc, it is still available in the ISP computer. This has happened to me before, I stopped getting OzBargain notifications, but for some reason I kept getting normal emails. Upon investigation, the mods told me the messages were being rejected by my ISP due to a full mailbox.

  • We checked our mail logs and emails are being reported as delivered by Yahoo.

    250 ok dirdel

    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN17653.html

If you don't see these or similar error messages, you should see an SMTP confirmation code similar to "250 ok dirdel" that indicates your message has been delivered.

Any other yahoo users having problems receiving emails? We haven't had any recent reports from Yahoo users not receiving emails and the above indicates the emails should be going through successfully.

It's also a good idea to add [email protected] to your address book and see if that helps.

  • I know this is an old thread, but I just noticed the same thing.

    Nothing in the SPAM folder.

Under 'subscribed threads' it has none listed.

Easy enough to set up again, but odd that my settings have been reset.

    • According to our logs: "Email notification failures. Unable to deliver emails to your current email address. Please update your profile settings."

      This happened as of 22/7/19.

Please double check your email address and ensure that it's still valid, your mailbox isn't full etc. Then re-add your email address or an alternate address to your profile settings.

Please contact us in private, via TWAM if you need further assistance.

I just got this this morning:

Email notification failures. Unable to deliver emails to your current email address. Please update your profile settings

I just received several OzB emails last night, so I'm confused. I tried sending the verification email, but didn't receive it. Storage isn't full etc. Only reason I can think of is your emails no longer meet iCloud's DMARC policy?

        • @itsfree, could you kindly start a TWAM so that we can discuss details with you in private? Thanks.

        • 1 more here. iCloud. No sign of a verification e-mail yet, nor any others from OzB. Getting e-mails per usual from other sources (ask me how much spam I delete every day)!

It's amusing that Apple might be blocking OzB, when so much unsolicited stuff gets through.

        • Sorry about the inconvenience. It seems like email addresses with @mac.com, @icloud.com and @me.com are currently affected
