I noticed my Amex offer for up to $30 back on prime expires tomorrow.
I haven't tried prime before, but figure it is a reasonable deal for a 12 month membership.
When I go to Amazon, I can't seem to actually pay for prime, just set up a 30 day trial which will charge me in a month if I don't cancel.
Is there any way for me to take advantage of this offer?
I think they offer yearly plans coz I just paid for that a week ago and got the $ cashback from Amex
You can change your sub from Monthly to Yearly to take full advantage of this.
I'd love to pay for 12 months also, but when you sign up it forces you to have 1 month free, so yearly payment due in Jan, so it's a no-go for me..
Will probably save me $$ in impulse buys, so not too worried about it. :p
If you go to Your Account > Your Prime membership.
Then go to the left hand side, you should be able to change it to annual membership - $59.
Just make sure you have your preferred payment method in place first.

I was in the same predicament last year when I need to burn all my Telstra prepaid credits and I can't do that without waiting for 1 month trial when buying magazine memberships, VPN sub etc
Amazon US have 'buy a prime membership as a gift' but I can't find it for Amazon Oz

I was in the same boat. Contact support to terminate my Amazon prime trial, then bought the yearly membership for $59, then asked support if I could get my 1 month trial re-added. He is said he'll ask the membership team and get back to me lol.

Definitely can sign up for a month.. There's an option to select full year on signup.. It's a bit obscure but it's there…

Contact their live chat and ask, the chat agent I spoke to this morning was aware of the Amex offer expiring tomorrow and preempted my enquiry lol.

You can't cancel from the website then re-sign up to pay - it just reactivates your 30 day trial.
The people saying "Choose to pay annually" are on the right track, but the charge doesn't debit until the trial is over - in January for me.
I ended up using live chat to cancel my prime trial, then signing to prime again and paying for 12 months.
That appears to have worked.

At present they only offer month by month, so cant pay for a year in advance.
I have the same amex offer, so works out to $2.50 a month.
My offer also says it expires tomorrow. but since its already active for me (has been for the past 6 months or so), i see no reason it shouldn't continue to be active (only had to activate by tomorrow).
