Thought I would try uber eats. Turns out my Sony e4g isn't up to the task (app store says not compatible?) First app that doesn't work. Normal uber still works.
Any way around this?

Mobile website should work too… there's always menulog and deliveroo. Menulog mobile website definitely works. I use it all the time.

That phone shipped with KitKat and never got updated to anything beyond Android 4.4.
Major problem with phones of a few years ago: unless you're buying a flagship product a budget phone usually gets left way behind in updates. At least nowadays even a budget phone like a Nokia 6.1 will see at least 1 major OS upgrade.
Time for a new phone.
Got a Nokia 3. Seems to be the modern day e4g.
Upgrade to Android Pie, or get a phone that has it.
That's the problem with Android, well, one of the problems at least. Sorry I don't have a workaround for you.

You can upgrade to Android 8 via custom ROM.
Difficult to do?
Not really, but you can brick the device if the update fails.
