Lego City Undercover is really good for small kids.

    It's really quite Open World.

My son and I have had a great time playing it together. It's better than the other Lego games because they tend to be more linear which isn't as good for little kids.

(profanity) fortnite, it so hard hey, I dont care that you can build :P Look I can dance,

Local Co-OP Lego DC Villains is a lot of fun.

I don't have a 10 year old, but I'd recommend Little Big Planet 3. And it's only $19 at EB games.

    • This drove me bonkers this game… But yes, fun for all

    • I keep seeing that one at EB Games but it actually didn't look appealing. Now I have had 2 recommendations, I might jump at that one !

Be aware it tends to be a love it or hate it kind of game. I keep trying to push myself to get past the tutorial levels, but they're insultingly easy. I gave the controllers to a couple kids I was babysitting at a party once and even they got bored with it and went to Minecraft and NBA 2k.

When I was a kid I loved Star Wars Episode 1 Racer on the N64.

There's a game called Redout currently on sale for $9 at EB on PS4 which reminds me heavily of that title. Also has two player split screen play

Also Rayman Legends. Can't go wrong with that title at any ago imo

    • I saw recently that the PC version of Star Wars Episode 1 Racer was on Steam. I'm definitely going to give that a go. I spent countless hours on that as a kid.

    • Love a bargain game - thank you !

Duke Nukem 3D. The bar scene is particularly kid-friendly.

Do you entertain yourself by leaving pointless comments such as these when people are asking genuine questions?

      • You say that, but I played Duke Nukem 3d at a similar age and it was a great game for it's time….

All hail to the king, bay-by!

        ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED

master 7 is currently spending a lot of time on little big planet 3, tearaway unfolded, and he loves driving around in grand theft auto. he is not really interested in the hype surrounding red dead redemption 2

You're letting your 7 year old play GTA and RDR2? Am I reading that right?

      • I don't see the issue here.

Kids are impressionable. I know there are no discernable links between video games and violence, but it's the other aspects that they pick up whether subliminally or intentionally in order to seem cool or "mature" in front of peers.

          • @Ninternet: my child does not seem cool, he wears a legionaries hat for crying out loud.

he can just buy whatever games he wants, I wouldn't know whats good or bad. He only likes driving the cars in GTA and RDR2 was too boring apparently - he didn't play much. He is not allowed to play more than 3 hours per day.

        • i am the same with my two boys

    Overcooked, Fat Princess Adventures

    • I ended up getting Overcooked - I think I like it more than my kids haha

Don’t get your kids more than the games you’ve already listed, at least to start with. There’s enough in your existing list to keep them busy for quite a while, and if you get more they’re likely not to engage properly with any of them.

If they take a liking to the LEGO game you got them, there’s an extensive back catalogue of those that should be able to be had pretty cheaply.

If you haven’t already, spend that money on a second controller instead

      • Thanks for that - yeah you are probably right - I have already got the second controller so there are no fights ! I might just get one more game and thats it.

Portal Knights and Steep are currently free on PlayStation Plus, while not split-screen both are pretty appropriate for the age range.

    • Thank you for the tip - is PlayStation Plus something I have to pay for ?

      • Unfortunately yes. It is mandatory if you are to play online and you are provided with free games every month.
