cheapest so far by around $9
as discussed in many previous oral-b threads, the motor for this smart 4 is same as the top of range genius 9000.
you get less accessories which are irrelevant for me anyway.

  • I have an older model triumph 5000, would this be a major upgrade?
I've been looking at the Phillips Diamondclean models, but they're expensive.

    • +1

i think so. basically with this you are using the current most expensive oral b handle/motor.
phillips ones are slightly different way of brushing technology, people said.

      • one is spinning the other is just vibrating.

I think the spinning action is a better clean, especially with the floss heads that the philips doesnt have

    • I moved from Oral b to Philips - don't make the same mistake I did.

      • really? hmmm i am considering xiami oclean which is similar with phillips
why not happy with Philips, is it because the handle around button not waterproof?

        • +4

Sorry - I really shouldn't have made that so vague. The problems I have with my Philips Sonicare Healthywhite are quite possibly really only something that would make me dislike it as much as I do, but I'll try and get my point across.

Firstly, I much prefer the head on the Oral Bs. It's round and spins back and forth, roughly able to cover one tooth at a time. The Philips has more of an oval shape head which sort of vibrates instead and is harder to get to the very back, behind the rear molars.

Secondly, and my biggest gripe (that may only relate to me) is that it tries to be smart and has three different modes available for brushing. You just press the power button to cycle through these, but at the end of the day do the exact same thing while trying to impress you with different pattern vibrations. Part of these smarts also includes it automatically turning off after the cycle is complete - only issue is I will always brush for longer than the programmed timer allows for. So the routine goes press power on - brush - turn off - press on again - brush - press power button three times to cycle through modes to off. No! Just give me an on off button and let me clean where I want for as long as I want. I am the human here - I make the rules.

Thirdly, the heads are dearer than Oral B. A very quick check on shavershop puts Philips at $30 a head with Oral B under $20 for 3.

I went into this purchase thinking "eh it's an electric toothbrush ffs, they all do the same thing" but really haven't enjoyed the product the whole time. Hope that helps

          • @Hinee: ok thanks. yes people should understand the movement technology behind oral b and phillips are different, difficult to compare

      • Definitely interested in hearing more?

        Thank you

  • Most importantly, what kind of batteries does this use (NiMH or Li)?

      • 3 brushing modes including daily clean, whitening & sensitive
      • Better brushing results with real-time feedback thanks to Bluetooth connectivity and the Oral-B App
      • Battery lasts up to 2 weeks with 1 charge with the Lithium-ION battery
      • Content: 1 handle with charger, 2 brush heads
    • The new ones with Li-Ion has 'smart' in the name, so this one has the new batteries.

  • now.. this or oclean one?

  • Not a lot of stock around for click and collect sadly Brissie area

  • Anydeals for oral b genius 9000??

    • can you help search?? thanks

  • +1

Thanks OP! one more thing i can strike off my boxing day sales list

  • +3

Good deal for C&C but instead of paying $5-10 for delivery, consider instead buying from Amazon for $99 with the free variety 4 brush heads pack (add both to cart and cost of brush heads pack is deducted at checkout) and free shipping.

    • Amazon have 5-6% cashback ATM? This seems like a good deal, $95

    • Hmm is it worth the extra 15 bucks for the pack of brushes. Get the 5% off via cashrewards as well

      • -1

i still have 2 brushes so i wont. and no i dont follow their recommendation of changing brush every 3 months.. at least 6 for me.

      • eBay is around $84 with postage, Amazon is $95 however includes 4 brush heads.

  • im not a toothbrush expert is this good? pros/cons. $100 is probably my max

    • there are lots of disccusion, please search oral-b and read all the threads.

    • Any oral-B smart / professional that have a 1000 or higher in the model number has the fastest motor. eg 700 or 500 has slower motor. Over 1000, there's additional features other than the best motor.

  • Why does the deal have cashback icons when there are no cashbacks on eBay anymore?

    • sorry its all automatic generated by ozb system. anyway it tells you unavailable and 0% so ….

  • fucxxxxx no travel case..
hmm anyone can recommend nice cheap case? not too bulky, just handle and one brush no need to carry extras

    thanks.
