  • I think you got lucky, as it says $1635 ex tax on that site.

    • I've seen this site mentioned a couple of times in recent days… it does say ex tax, but I just tried a sample checkout, and the price remains $1635 even when you go through checkout. Could be dodgy and add the tax in after you check out though.

      • exhausting tax

        :P

      • +1

Live chatted with them and said all prices included gst

  • +8

Definitely got lucky with that one mate! Well Done. That website looks a solid 11/10 on the dodgy scale.

    • dody site but total at checkout once you go through all steps comes to $1635

  • I rang and officeworks refused to price match

    • +1

      I rang up Customer service (1300 633 423)

  • Which store did u ring up?

    • I rang up Customer service (1300 633 423)

  • +5

    Did you make that site?

    • +1

      No, founded on Shopbot.com.au.

  • Anyone else tried?

    • +1

Yeah, I rang Customer Service and they said head office has issued a directive to all Officeworks' staff members to refuse price matching with Alber Mart. Reason given was this store doesn't provide Australia Consumer Law warranty on their products, therefore products aren't 'identical' with Officeworks.

      • +3

lol, the products ARE identical, the service offered may not be though

**edit, apart from that, who are Officeworks to claim this.
As a .com.au company they (Alber Mart) would be trading under same laws and it would be up to whichever Govt. department to enforce / fine any company not abiding by them.

      • Reason given was this store doesn't provide Australia Consumer Law warranty on their products

https://albermart.com.au/index.php?route=information/informa… claims it is Australian stock with full Australian warranty.

      • I think warranty would provide by apple ?

  • +2

no go with Officeworks, don't waste time on this.

    • What was their reason for rejecting it?

  • They pricematched it for me, at the Brisbane Adelaide St. branch

    • Mind if i have your receipt? Wanna get one at this store as well? Much appreciated mate!

    GOT ONE!!
THANK YOUUUU SOOO SOO MUCH chris12309!!
I walked into the store and showed them the deal. They took a while to look it up and see that its not a fake site and all. I paid $1553.25 too
    Yayyy Got a gold one

      Receipt ? Which store ?

  • Pakenham, Vic

how do I attach the Receipt?

  • How did you find stock in store? Most NSW stores show as no stock :-(

    • there was only one in stock
They also said they could order but it will come next year.
so they were willing to order for 5% discount as well.

  • Wasted 40 min going to officeworks store and another 15 on the call to their 1300 number.

    No price match at officeworks

    • Yes, me too
      They denied to price match
The man from Fitzroy Vic said with this reason

Official response is a definite no: the website does not follow rules set out by Australian law including the price being displayed must have gst included. A complaint has already been submitted against the company.

I understand your friend(s) may have received the price match, but unfortunately it was the other stores that were in error for matching those phones.

Feel free to order from that website, just be warned I deal with very similar websites often, (this is 4th in two months) and it is most likely fraudulent.

  • Australia fastest shipping. Sounds like some fake Chinese business hahah

    • +1

Many other mistakes on their website.

      Fake address
Mobile number which is never answered
price says ex-tax but when checkout, tax is not added.
on some items slashed price is lower than new price.

  • oh, anyone has experience with them? Are they scam or legit?

    • +1

I have lost over $1500, they are scam.
      Please see my comment below

      • thanks. I’ll reply my experience on your below comment too.

  • The Officeworks I usually go to were more than willing to the price match and price beat but are unable to order as the system wouldn’t allow them to as the warehouse had no stock.

I couldn’t even pay and pick up at a later date.

In the end the person who I was dealing with put thru a space grey at the same price so I purchased that.

  • OW didn't allow the price beat in Brisbane.

    Please BEWARE
I would like to confirm that this site is a scam!!!

I have lost money with them and reported to the authorities. I would also like to request admin to remove them from this site.

This how they do the scam.
1- They put low price to attract the customers
2- They let you buy from their website using your credit card.
3- Soon after you placed an order they will send you an email stating that their credit card system is not working so they will need you to transfer money into their NAB bank account instead.

4- Customer will transfer the money and they will start making excuses about logistic issue etc. and then they will stop responding your chat or email messages.
The trick is they use fake NAB BSB but use correct NON-NAB account, but still get transferred into that account which could potentially belong to any bank.

I joined this forum just to send this warning out.

    • +3

I second this site is a scam.
I’ve chat with them and ask if I can make payment buy using paypal. They said that credit card is the only way, however, there is paypal icon on there site :)
Then I lookup the address using google maps, street view. The address is a JB Hifi store.
Then if you google their phone number, you will see there are lots lf ads on everywhere from gumtree to whatsoever site. There is a logistic site has that phone number plus an US phone number as well.

SCAM! Do not waste your time with this site.

Then I lookup the address using google maps, street view. The address is a JB Hifi store.

…maybe there's a hidden store behind that…..like an alleyway of some sort…? Someone who lives in NSW there could try it out and report back…..

    • The trick is they use fake NAB BSB but use correct NON-NAB account, but still get transferred into that account which could potentially belong to any bank.

How does that even work? You would automatically know this right before you transfer and question why I'm transferring to a non-NAB bank…..

      • I thought that too but after speaking with nab, apparently its banking loop hole, this guy knows what he is doing.

        • Well now that you got he's banking details you can get money back from him by direct debiting him…is that even possible? Or if not at least sign him up for a charity cause and they will debit his account…lol
