Big W Pricematch?

Would anyone know if Big W pricematch competitors in the same way as Officeworks?

I'm thinking of getting a 32gb Ipod Touch and price matching Officeworks who have it for $11 cheaper, then flick out the staff discount card!

Anyone know if that would work?

If it does work, it'll be around $310, which wouldn't be bad…

  • Ozbargain Pricematch List

    From their website

If by chance you should find an identical item currently advertised at a lower price by another store, we guarantee to match the price on the spot. Just present the competitors current advertisment or ask an associate to verify the price. BIG W will price match any product that is identical to the same brand; the same model number or style; the same weight.

    • But can you get staff discount on top of already discounted price? Often can't use two discounts together but no idea if same would apply to a staff discount card or not.

      • Yea you can use staff discount. Dont see why not.. its scanned at the registers :)

        • "Dont see why not" and "you can" are two different things. Do you know for sure?

Myer doesn't give a discount for staff for a price match. As a price match at BigW will require the price being overidden, if their policy is the same then it wouldn't be allowed.

Guess a simple ask your manager, are we allowed to get staff discount on a price matched item, should give you an answer

  • staff discount is just %5, so a purchase of $310 will save just $15.5 (which wont break the bank)

plus if big w did pricematch, it should do it for every other customer (assuming they asked) and staff are entitled to use thier discount

that said, if you have to fight to get the pricematch and then you take out the staff discount, dont expect them not to roll thier eyes and take a deep breath lol

    • $15.5 "wont break the bank".

ROFL - do you realise where you are? This is OzBARGAIN, where people kill and maim for a free sample of dishwashing detergent, or where they mass neg posts for hard drives being a buck more expensive…..

Also maybe a bank doesn't care when you pay, but refuse to credit 30c for a internet transfer to clear an account so it could be closed…..

      • i meant on the businesses's behalf, it wont break thier bank..

    • +1

      will save just $15.5

Dude, I got my friend who works at woolies to use his card in order to save 40 cents.
