nice price, would have preferred a free shipping, $11.95 kind of ruins it

      My overview…

      COVER RANGE:
Kogan: Not fully in-case. This means easier to install (it covers top and sides but not the bottom).
Catch:Full in-case. This means it is harder to install (need to fully envelop the mattress) but it protects the bottom as well.

      MATERIAL:
Kogan: Bamboo and polyester terry. Bamboo material is good bacteria protection.
Catch: Cotton. Good for breathable material. You will feel comfortable. It also protects from bed bugs.

      PRICE:
Kogan: $25+shipping ($11.38 for postcode 6000). Not on sale.
Catch: $29+shipping (free with Catch Club). On sale, save $70-150 depending on the cover size. I recommend signing up for Club Catch 3 months @ $19.95 instead of paying $11.95 shipping.

      CASH BACK:
      Kogan: no cashback.
Catch: 2.5% on CashRewards, 3% on ShopBack.

      SHIPPING:
Kogan: Dispatch in 2 days with 5-7 business days to Perth.
Catch: I usually receive package in 5 days (include weekends).

      EXTRA BONUS - GIFT CARDS:
Catch has 5% off on gift cards (ends 24 Dec!). That means $1.45 off the cover, $0.60 off shipping. I don't know if you can pay Catch Club with gift cards, if so it be $1 savings on membership.

      EXTRA BONUS - UNIDAYS:
If you have Uni email and Unidays account, you can get 10%

      OVERALL:
I say the Catch one has a better deal. With cotton material for comfort, value is higher, have discounts on giftcards and cashback. Shipping time is dependable on your location. The only problem is the Catch cover fully envelops the mattress, this may be a Pro for some but I find it a Con.

      • I recommend signing up for Club Catch 3 months @ $19.95 instead of paying $11.95 shipping.

"Free unlimited shipping - On eligible orders over $45" for the clubcatch members.

  • How would this compare to say a Memory Foam mattress topper in regards to comfort guys? My back pain is at an all time high. From what I've read the only downside is they're not too breathable & can get hot in Summer, but possibly great for Winter?

Sorry to hear you’re suffering from back pain, I had that for a few months off and on.

I think a Memory Foam Mattress topper would be more comfortable than the Mattress Protector.

I own a few Mattress Protectors and they literally are supposed to work as a soil proof bedding cover over your mattress moreso, than the back support you’re looking for, I’m guessing?

I heard natural latex mattress toppers are good but haven’t tried them as yet. May need someone else to weigh in regarding other back pain support.

Thanks a lot for your awesome answer.

Much appreciated that you took the time to write that :)

    • Buddy you need a new mattress not a mattress protector. Mattress topper won’t do for bad back.

I'm a tradie and I found our new mattress to be too firm and hurting my back every morning so a year ago I bought something like this for around $150 delivered.

      https://www.crazysales.com.au/online-8cm-queen-cool-gel-memo…

It is worth every cent to me because it made a huge difference to sleep comfort.
Our new mattress already has a stitched on topper but it is only about 40mm thick and we should have bought a medium mattress instead of a firm one.

      • Cheers, actually looking at something very similar/identical to that, do you ever find you get hot in it in Summer, as I hear they aren't so breathable?

        • Have no complaints about it being too hot. There are little holes through the memory foam for ventilation.
We also have a plush mattress protector over the memory foam topper, which you'd think would make things even hotter.
If it was too hot I was going to ditch the sealed bed base and turn our bed into a slat bed by either buying or getting a furniture maker to make up a slat base and throwing the new mattress on top.
Slat beds are known to be cooler because they let the mattress breathe.

can anyone please PM me a unidays code for catch please? Thank you very much in advance.

  • If you don’t want to pay shipping and don’t care about your matress being in a bag, I got a tontine one last week. King currently $24.50

  • Says it’s quiet but I always find waterproof materials to be noisy.

  • Wonder if this will be available at their physical store as well (say the one at Chaddie VIC)?
