Energizer Eco Advanced Batteries $10 AA 30 Pack @ The Reject Shop

980

AA 30 pack or AAA 24 pack available.

Seem like a good deal for these batteries after some research. For comparison:

Groupon has the same 30 pack for $29
https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/mnb-variety-imports-7163204…

Or Amazon US has 12 pack for $17 USD.
https://www.amazon.com/Energizer-EcoAdvanced-Batteries-Energ…

JB Hi-Fi has 10 pack for $13
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/accessories/ener…

Seems like this is much much less than half price.

Also a few other bargains in sale, Pringle’s $1 and MM chocks for $1.

Just a reminder, please don't dispose of batteries in the general waste, the toxic chemicals and metals can leak when they erode in landfill and contaminate the environment.

Aldi, Officeworks, Ikea and Battery World have drop off points where they take them for free and recycle them.

      real ozbargainers only use eneloops

    • Do you know anywhere takes old car batteries for recycling?

      • +2

Yes Battery World take them for free. I don't know of anywhere else.

        • +1

Thanks will bring my old dead battery there tomorrow.

        • Wherever shops take old mobile batteries. They will take these used batteries also.

      • +9

Try the scrap metal recycling place, in WA, they took the car batteries for $4/kg

        • +8

Now that's a true ozbargainer trick

          • @RockyRaccoon: A true ozbargainer trick would be opening up the car battery and put a ton of feathers inside

        • Thanks but will probably cost more of my time and fuel to get there than just leave my old dead car battery at Battery World near my house.

Also check your local council. My council takes them for free at it's "waste transfer station".

        • There is a collection facility in Marsden Park that does it for free. When searched up it comes under Blacktown Council, but i'm pretty sure it takes waste from everyone.

Try auto parts stores, Autobarn took my last one off my hands for recycling @ no charge (pun slightly intended).

Also your local library and school may have battery recycling bins.
You can search for them here

Pretty sure all landfills are already well sealed.

This is to contain the toxic material that leaches out of rubbish when it doesn't contain batteries.

    • +1

Alkaline batteries (like the ones featured in this deal) contain no toxic chemicals or metals.

      https://obpmedical.com/debunking-myths-about-the-disposal-of…

The cells that absolutely must be recycled are lead acid and nickel cadmium. NiMH batteries are considered a mild risk.

It's still a good idea to recycle batteries when you can, but it's only mandatory for some.

    Good find OP.

  • Watch nerd must break your heart all those councils dumping recycle crap into landfill . Too bad this store behind the ball no online ordering but nice price point OP :) Just curious if anyone gets pls post expiry date .

    • What a disaster recycling has turned out to be.

Instead of just ditching the pointless activity councils continue to prosecute people for not sorting their rubbish and people continue to use recycling as a justification for producing environmentally damaging waste even though no recycling is occurring.

      • Not my council, it’s run by the Greens! But wait I err, they prosecute even more….

  • Why is the expiry set to today? Is this a catalogue promo?

    • Yea , I didn’t check this email until today, it ends today. Get in today

Good deal. Rivals the Bunnings price for the Varta set.

Always wondered why dollar for dollar you always get less AAA's in a pack than AA's.

  • +2

    Invest in eneloops instead

Also give the meat pie pringles a try guys, I bought them earlier and had fun debating amongst friends the taste of it. Worth trying just for the fun.

  • Interesting that if you go on the Energiser Australian site and search for 'Energiser Eco Advanced" http://energizer.asia/en-au/search/?_sf_s=energiserecoadvanc… it shows up as not being found.. I would like to know what chemistry they are?

    • Are there different chemistries for alkaline batteries? These would just be normal 1.5V Zinc/Mang alkalines (and not the old zinc-carbon stuff)

    • Just bought a pack each of AAA and AA's. Pack says "MADE IN USA".

If you cant get to a reject shop it looks like JB hifi also sell these but for 5 bucks more

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/accessories/ener…

    • Yep saw these in-store at the counter at JB HiFi and thought they looked familiar from here. If I was in the market for batteries like these I'd say I don't trust Reject Shop stock as much as I would JB stock and would almost be inclined to spend the $5 more to get them there instead.

Hand back your Ozbargain badge if your willing to pay 50% premium for store brand.

Honestly don’t know how you could justify it.

    • Awesome thank you

(or even OW for price match perhaps)

The Reject shop I went to didn't have stock last night :(

      • +1

I went to mine and grabbed 2, only 3 left and someone holding a phone with the ozbargain page asked me whrrr the stock was, I pointed to the last one left. That was around midday. Spoke to counter and apparently they sold heaps yesterday, oxbargakn effect.

For anyone who requires 1.5v per cell and therefore NiCd/NiMH batteries are not suitable, consider using Nickel Zinc batteries. These are usually only available online and require a new charger, but deliver a full 1.6v and are rechargeable.

  • How long do these normally last if I just buy some to store away in a drawer somewhere for a rainy day.

    • According to the pack I bought 12 years

      • +1

Thanks ok I should be good for some time then.

  • Went to the Perth City Reject Shop this morning…

    Signs said $15
    Their website still shows $10.
Manager marked it down to $10 as per website.
I picked up 1 of each.

    • Gone from the website now.
