Agreed. As casual players, our family found it a bit boring. If you don't really like puzzle games, the strategy of tile placement will be completely lost to you. Game lives or dies if you enjoy this component, otherwise it's just making motions.
As a comparison point, we really like Blokus, which is a puzzle/strategy game but has more attacking components and generally has a lot more heated "discussion" :)
that's easily the best bit of the game, for me it's filling the rows of 1,2,3,4,5 in order to do so where it falls over. Not nearly as interesting as the rest and can be quite punishing.
anyone new to the hobby would be better off with classics like Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride.

I've just sent an email to Amazon support. In the app I can't find anywhere to cancel the order, which I have been able to do on previous purchases.
If it’s been sent out. They’ll notify you you can’t change it
You chat with customer support and depending on where it's at they will cancel it. If they can't cancel, you can return it (they will pay return shipping) and get a refund.
Pretty sure they have Australian phone support, or chat. My experience was quite quick, no crazy wait times but YMMV especially post Christmas.
Amazon wont price match themselves, I've tried it a few times. In one case they paid the return shipping so I could reorder at the cheaper price. GO figure.
Oh well. I bought it yesterday along with Terraforming Mars for $126 total. Mars must have been on special because if I bought both today it'd be $136
Jump onto online chat. If azul hasn't shipped they will cancel it for you, even though you cant do it yourself. Then just reorder. Shipping isn't an issue if you have prime.
@PlagueistheCheap: Amazon was amazing. Replied by email within the day and stated although they don't do post payment adjustments, they sent me the difference as goodwill.
I still think 7 Wonders could be cheaper!

I can recommend the Escape the Room Mystery at Stargazers Manor - one of the better Escape Room in a box games.
Thanks OP, just bought Azul. If people are considering getting this or the newer game Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra. Would recommend this if you want a board game that is more approachable for casuals and would recommend Stained Glass for more experienced gamers.
